Thinking Bad Bunny is the most likely headliner if it’s not Kendrick. I know he has 3 LA dates in the spring but the cheapest resale is like $300 for nosebleeds. The demand is there.

id be pretty surprising if they replaced a unique show like Frank Ocean with someone playing 3 LiveNation tour dates in the immediate area literally right before the festival

It would be surprising if they moved Frank on purpose, but if the Frank move was out of their control then Bad Bunny seems like a great option to me. Pretty hard to find a good replacement that’s as unique as Frank, I can’t think of anyone

i mean, even if the Frank move wasn't on purpose, it's not like dropped out the week beforehand. The news about him not playing leaked in like July, that's plenty of time to find a headliner who isn't playing three dates in LA less than two months beforehand

I just think they might be okay with that since Bad Bunny might be the biggest artist in the world right now. Who would you like to see that seems more likely?
Rihanna would be a home run but I can’t think of anyone else off the top.

i have no idea who it might be, but i just really don't think it's Bad Bunny, or Billie Eilish, or any of the other big artists who are playing multiple LA stops on a LiveNation tour this spring

I do think Frank got bumped because Coachella already had someone lined up to headline. This isn’t a “Frank bailed and now they’re scrambling” situation. I would be perfectly happy with Bad Bunny, but it won’t be him

Shit posting aside, I do think they've got someone locked in, and it's likely something they've been planning for a minute.
It's not going to be someone with multiple LA dates, and I think it's odd that anyone would assume they're that desperate.

Going by the almighty Spotify plays metric, Fugees are twice as popular as Tribe. Miseducation also has a couple tracks that lap the most popular Tribe songs

Resale for each of the 4 Bad Bunny SoCal dates is $300+ for nosebleeds, I wouldn’t call booking him “despertare”. They might be the only US festival that can at this point. But I get everyone’s point, something more niche and exclusive would be cooler.

It'd make a lot of logistical sense.
literally every year, big name artists announce spring LA shows at LiveNation venues and we're all like "oh well they're not playing"
this year, for some reason, once the news broke 9 months ahead of the festival that Frank Ocean wasn't playing, everyone seemingly thinks they're scrambling for a replacement which means reaching for those aforementioned acts
like, Frank didn't cancel a month out, they're not scrambling for whoever is nearby

On the other hand, booking a hot headliner with a show ready and a tour stopping nearby makes for an easy replacement.
