Metallica is always going to be a bit of a unique case in terms of the heaviness-to-popularity quotient, but if you start to generously expand the genre to "loud guitar rock" there are more future stadium bands that you think.
Fall Out Boy could never release another album and they'll be able to coast off of nostalgia for the next decade or two.
Problem with pushing these things to 4 days is Danny is gonna run out of headliners real fast. There can't be more than like twenty bands on that level, right?

Not a great look that the newest act on that list is Limp Bizkit. Rammstein and System still haven't happened, maybe that's the push for next year? If Rockville gets both I'll probably go.

It's also another good reminder that all of the fests missed the boat on booking the Queen + Adam Lambert thing. A crowd pleasing ticket mover for both young and old.
Important note - Linkin Park is certainly not Queen. But I still think that they could probably milk the Linkin Park legacy thing for a while.

Looks like this weekend broke records for Wimmer with over 220k over 4 days. Ann Wilson joined Distubed, Tech N9ne joined FIR, Jelly Roll joined Limp Bizkit, and I'm sure I'm missing a bunch more but looks like they want Rockville to be the buttrock Coachella lol.

Does that make Louder Than Life the buttrock Bonnaroo?
One would think Metallica would fit this, but they played in 2017 (when it was still ROTR) and were booked in 2020 (before James had to drop for rehab and then the whole fest was scrapped). So that would be an odd way to describe Metallica if it is them.

Linkin Park pretty much a lock for that. Rammstein def makes sense because in that time frame theres like 3 of the festivals all on consecutive weekends right? Plenty of time to set up.
