It’s super weird that as a society we used to just think “oh as long as she (or he) is 18, they’re fair game”. Like in a socially acceptable sense. I remember that time. Now that I’m the age that Seinfeld was when he started dating her (38), I can’t believe he would have been so public about it. It feels embarrassing.
I say all that to say, at some magically ambiguous time during their relationship, let’s say around the second year, she was a gorgeous woman. I just looked her up. I remember as a kid thinking she was smoking hot
But we individually just like society need to to do whatever the positive antonym of moving the goal posts is. Times change and we progress. Before your time or when you were young we had on the radio Chuck Berry’s Sweet Little 16 (just got to have you), Kiss’s Christine (16), and later shit like RHCP (though ironic or possibly not ironic) Punk Rock Classic and even wimpiest band ever winger with 17. Shit has come a long way for America (in that respect) in less than a lifetime.
Also superstar Janis Ian did a troll song with Howard Stern about Jerry’s relationship. She later disavowed it because of the obvious nuances and intricacies of that type of relationship. But I still thought the song was funny as hell at the time from the Miss Rotten New Years whatever early 90’s year that was, and a brutal dis/takedown before that was even an issue.

Barrymore herself, a producer on the show, or an outside writer hired to fill the role will have to come up with the material. Either way it happens, the production would be crossing the WGA picket line.
“I own this choice,” Barrymore wrote on Instagram. “We are in compliance with not discussing or promoting film and television that is struck of any kind.”
“I want to be there to provide what writers do so well, which is a way to bring us together or help us make sense of the human experience,” she continued. “I hope for a resolve for everyone as soon as possible.”
In compliance. EYE FUCKING ROLL. Are you serious? There is a fucking strike and her show falls under the WGA contract. Fuck that bitch. I do love that they are now out there picketing in front of the show everyday.
Could you make this image a little larger, just so we can hate on you a little more?
sorry it's so big i shrunk it down. regardless i deny everything, all these claims are baseless. i'd like to thank my wife and family for supporting me during these trying times.

Same jacket Drew Barrymore would wear, we should’ve seen the signs
FINALLY. I've been hearing murmurs about this guy for years. A real relief to finally have some of these accusations see the light of day. Hopefully the victims can get some closure

don't believe it, this is cancel culture run amok. i actually blame the victims instead.
how we feel about this? my first reaction is well yeah he made stuff up, he's a stand-up. but the nature of some of the anecdotes, like an undercover FBI agent infiltrating his mosque when he was a kid and trying to entrap him in jihad, resulting in police trying to arrest him, or a white powder being sent to his house and he accidentally spilled it on his young daughter. feels like kind of fucked up things to fabricate? even in the confines of a stand up set.
i haven't seen any of his standup, and i only watched like half an episode of Patriot Act.

I also haven’t watched any of his standup or Patriot Act, so my opinion here isn’t particularly strong, but if you’re supporting your “emotional truth” with some pretty serious fabrications, it seems like it undermines your purpose . I liked the way this person from the article summed it up:
A comedy writer who has worked for “The Daily Show” said that most comics’ acts wouldn’t pass a rigorous fact-check, but, if a show is built on sharing something personal that’s not necessarily laugh-out-loud funny, the invention of important details could make an audience feel justifiably cheated. “If he’s lying about real people and real events, that’s a problem,” the writer said. “So much of the appeal of those stories is ‘This really happened.’ ”

i tried watching the Patriot Act and the comedy and format just did not hit for me. there's embellishing personal stories with no/low stakes for laughs, and then this (making up FBI infiltrations)..
I've watched some of the Patriot Act and all of his Netflix specials and I'm pretty pissed. I enjoyed the shows, and believed what he said really happened to him. Yes, comedians exaggerate, but not to the extent that the entire events never happened.
"When it came to his stage shows, he told me, “the emotional truth is first. The factual truth is secondary.” . Bullshit
His complete unconcern about this coming out is bothersome as well.
We have a candidate running for mayor in Franklin Tn. that posted a pic of her and several women of color and said they all supported her campaign. Find out the women don't know her and the pic was from 3 years ago as part of an ad campaign for The Limited. When contacted, she said she could post anything she wanted, there was no law against it. WTF

Hasan Minhaj is so annoying. I took a great deal of pleasure in him eating shit on Celebrity Jeopardy. Like not knowing basic economics or politics related questions. It's Celebrity Jeopardy, so they were all very easy, and he's made being smart on the issues or whatever his whole thing.
And then people who are actually funny like Ike Barinholtz or Patton Oswalt always crush.
Here she is. Gabrielle Hanson. She needs to be canceled, because she is very quickly on her way to being the next MTG.
And...............while we are at it, I would also like to cancel the person that shot a dog in Edwin Warner Park with SIX bullets on Wednesday because he felt "threatened". The dog was a pet, tail wagging, running up to people to be petted, with its owner. Yes, it should have been on a leash. But who the fuck shoots a dog 6 times in a park with kids around?
No, he was not arrested. It is legal to carry a weapon in a park in Tennessee and shoot whatever the fuck you want to if you feel threatened. /rant
