It's a fine line with stand-up comedy when it comes to what you can get away with fabricating. Once you start to get into the storytelling genre of comedy and less about short anecdotes, observational humor, or just setup-punchline jokes then there's definitely a bit of an expectation that what you're talking about is mostly real. Obviously things can be embellished or exaggerated but if you're getting into emotional areas and things that are supposed to be kind of making a point about social or political issues or other real life topics that have some serious undertones then it feels kind of lame to find out you're basically making things up just to support your take.
I saw a random comment online something along the lines of "Oh right....and next you're going to tell me that Dave Chappelle really didn't have crack sold to him by a baby" and I feel like that's a poor comparison to make. Obviously, that story from one of Dave's specials was an exaggerated take on seeing something sketchy outside while you're in the hood in a nice car/limo (i forget the exact specifics of the bit). We know he wasn't offered drugs by a literal toddler and it's certainly possible he didn't interact with anyone and just maybe saw a young looking person out on the sidewalk in a sketchy neighborhood. But that was more of like a short anecdote/scenario and not something deeply connected to Chappelle and his backstory/upbringing.
It's an odd topic but I don't really care about Hasan or his special so have no official opinion on his lies or whatever. Don't know much about it yet and haven't seen much of his stuff. He's not someone I like or dislike but I only have seen him briefly in some areas so it doesn't really matter to me lol
Here is my thing. When he was very promiscuous he was also overindulging in drugs and alcohol. So to make a blanket statement that it was always consensual (especially as a man) is very presuming. I am not saying he did anything wrong, but how could he be so sure if he was always intoxicated.

In line with what Vieux said, any ex drinker / drug addict is likely to have had coercive sex, if not assault or rape, in their using history. It's no excuse, and I'm not surprised. This guy has always loved the smell of his own shit, which is super sus.

There was a post on r/lowstakesconspiracies a few months back that said Russell Brand made his right-wing switch so he could get ahead of something and use the "cancel culture" angle. Certainly seems more plausible. Lots of right wing schmucks on twitter going to bat for him.

Yeah, he must have known something was coming. They said for the article they have interviewed so many people over the past few years so I'm sure at some point word got back to Russel that someone was asking questions and poking around.
It's insane how many turds online are acting like Brand is some savior truth-speaker who is challenging the status quo and mainstream media so they are trying to take him down. People are so fucking stupid
If I understand correctly then Angelica (a trans woman) was saying that when another staff member or whoever said "okay, ladies....let's get back to work" or whatever then Emma went out of her way to correct him and say "lady" as in singular. Misgendering Angelica on purpose.

Yeah, I wasn't too familiar with her when I first started seeing posts about her and American Horror Story stuff. When I looked her up on Wikipedia then I got what was going on.

Y'all should watch "Pose" if you don't know her as a performer. Her character Candy was one of my favorites from the show (in a show with a LOT of favorites). Highly recommend.
Shit King. Like he’s an insane old fuck probably living on a diet of viagra. Scotch and shoe polish. We saw it on Borat. We saw it live and in color after the election. I’d be seriously disgusted if Rudy’s frozen hands went under my blouse and skirt. Then he’s doing it under the premise that he’s got evidence. Lol at how sorry he is but giving a bit of a fuck about Cassidy. Maybe she played it smart and saved the allegations for her book. But it would probably have been better for the rest of the country if she had just pressed charges at the time on his demented ass.
Imagine him crafting that tweet, sitting there chuckling to himself at how clever "Girlretard" is, imagining all the likes and retweets he'll get as he hits submit.
