Female headliner or not, I hope they book another lineup with lots of women and poc. That was the most diverse multi-genre festival crowd I've seen, which was awesome. I'm sure Beyonce had a lot to do with it, but still.
FYF and Panorama are incredibly diverse this year as well; seems like Goldenvoice is leading the pack.
Saturday @ Panorama is packed with women! can't wait!

'Cause with your hand in my hand and a pocket full of soul I can tell you there's no place we couldn't go Just put your hand on the glass I'm here tryin' to pull you through You just gotta be strong
I would assume this makes him less likely but there have been headliners that played in LA the October preceding the fest and still got booked (Radiohead Oct '16 at the Shrine, Arcade Fire Oct '10 at the Shrine, maybe a couple others).
I'd breathe a lot easier if these were November/December dates, but yeah I'd imagine this makes him somewhat less likely tho not out.
Just feels like it'd be unnecessary overkill between those shows and the fact that he just played a subpar show in '15. I'm not the biggest Gambino fan but given his publicity right now and how good his live shows have been recently, he may be the target for that genre. I'd def take him over Drake, Em, JCole... Just about anybody besides Kanye or Kendrick.
My hope is Frank Ocean before Gambino or Chance, but heard he's working on something non-music related that would make me a little surprised if he plays next year, though that's my uneducated inference.
But yeah, I agree they'd all be better than Drake again or J Cole.
I might be in the minority but I’m loving all the new Drake tracks he’s been releasing in the last few months, I would be fine with him as long as his live show has improved by then.
Yeah I’d guess the same. This tour seems overly ambititious to me as is. But maybe it’ll end up being the basis for a “special” Outdoor closing set.
Maaaaybe, but as I recall, Coachella tends to stay away from these tribute/artist dedication sets. Let's get some Earth, Wind & Fire or D'Angelo while we still have a chance.
Haven't really thought about headliners here much. No big hip-hop/pop acts stand out to me at this point. I guess I could see them promoting Florence or Tame. I saw where Pearl Jam has a new album/tour.

If I don’t end up making it to Panorama I’d be perfectly happy with a Janet makeup set.
Chance seems over due.
Arctic Monkeys has been the obvious pick in the rock category, Gorillaz also sound like they’re in the mix.
I’d like to see at least one headliner that feels like a good “value” at a festival. Someone I’d want to see but not at the price a solo show costs. Janet is in this category. Rolling Stones are an obvious choice, although I think there would be a feeling of been there done that after Desert Trip. Keeping the Iron Maiden dream alive.
The left field headliner that won’t happen but I think would do really well is Dead & Company. They’re moving a lot more tickets now than they did when they headlined Roo, and pavilion seats at their shows are pretty pricey, so a festival date would be a good chance to see them GA. Plus, I think they’d be a hit with the LA poseur contingent

I mean, I recognize it’s 100% hypothetical, but I think they’d do as well or better than any other guitar-based headliner. There’s been an undeniable critical resurgence around the Dead the past few years.
Edit: nothing fits the Coachella brand until Coachella does it. Like Drake as a headliner was unfathomable in 2014. But I also think the idea that Dead Co would only work at a hippie-oriented fest isn’t really true anymore.

Frank, Chance, Childish Gambino, JT and Rihanna have a chance to be there IMO.
