With Lorde playing Wells Fargo in April (may also rule out Mitski and RTJ) I can't see her coming back to the area so soon. The Killers playing Wells Fargo in January... That's up in the air IMO.
All for Florence, Kendrick, or Jack White coming back to headline.

Everyone is getting too nervous, still plenty of paths to a good lineup:
Step 1: Book Kendrick, Green Day, or both. These seem like the no brainers.
Step 2: Elton John ends his Vegas residency in early June before heading to the Middle East in late June. Catch him as he comes East.
Step 3: Maybe jump on The Strokes and book them along with The Voidz who Julien will be with early this year. Been plenty of times they've played a few random cash grab festivals while not on tour.
Step 4: Try to get 1 of the following 4 who should be active: Jack White, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys.
Step 5: Try to get a legacy act. The 4 that fit Firefly in my eyes are Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Billy Joel, and Dave Matthews.
No LCD, no Arcade Fire, no The National - this thing needs Pearl Jam so bad
Not sure why you think this fest would be booking LCD or The National. Completely out of character.
People keep saying this, and to a certain degree you're right, but last year a Saturday post-headliner LCD show on the backyard stage would have been way more successful than whatever they were trying to accomplish with that Bob Dylan show.
well considering dylan and morrissey have played.. i don't see how they're out of character
Two bookings that were seen as massive wastes by most of the festival attendees, coming from someone who was in the first 20 rows for both shows.
The failures of the Morrissey and Dylan sets should have nothing to do with LCD and The National. If anything, it shows that Firefly should stay away from someone like David Byrne (as much as that pains me to say). Not 2 of the biggest names in alt/indie rock.

Phoenix is out. They're playing a festival in Norway the weekend of Firefly. I don't understand how a festival this size fails to book a band like Phoenix on two consecutive album tours.

If they're in the middle of a world tour overseas, I'm not sure how you think they'd be available for any festival in the U.S. on that weekend.

No reason why Firefly couldnt get them on the 3rd year of the album tour, thats kinda their MO. Did that with twenty one pilots and Foo Fighters for instance.
