Thoughts on the Anthem? Might head up to DC for the Sturgill show before flying to Chicago for Thanksgiving
I'm a fan, though it's been about 2 years since my last show there (Big Thief). The 4 or 5 shows I've seen there have all sounded great. Love that it's GA outside of the Super Excellent Seats. I sprung for those for Bon Iver, they are cool if it's a more mellow show. Not sure if they have improved the line situation to get in, but that had been a bit of a bear. Super Excellent tickets get a separate entrance which is another nice perk if you can't show up on the early side, but in my experience, those tickets go really quick and I'm sure they will for Sturgill too.

excellent venue. Large capacity while still feeling like a club venue. It’s on the Wharf, this waterfront area in DC, that has lots of dining options and is a nice place to chill before the show. It’s also a walkable distance from the National Mall and all the touristy stuff in DC.

If it’s IMP related, the Foos always seem like a safe bet. I’m curious what kind of artists they’ll be going for. Turnstile would be a big hit. Riot Fest is the same weekend, so they could potentially have some crossover.

Jimmie's Chicken Shack was asked to play, but they apparently have a prior tour commitment
I feel like Cage is a good guess. They are playing Oceans Calling but I don’t think that would preclude them from announcing a DC/VA date, which they never did. I thought they would play Iron Blossom

Just took a look at some past lineups. I think Blondie and Gwen Stefani are some female-led options who have played before and are active around that time
There is probably a 99% chance this doesn't happen, but we need Chem Bros to play again lol

Preparing for Foos, hoping for PJ or No Doubt.
PJ theoretically possible although I don't think they're playing. No Doubt is not happening. IF they do a legit reunion, it will be a big solo tour promoted by GV next year, not a random one off festival promoted by another company.

Gwen is performing with her band at the iHeart fest in Vegas on the 20th. I think that would rule out any No Doubt performance

New festival alert! Pusha T & RnB Block Party teaming up to launch the Cousinz Festival in Norfolk, VA. Lineup drops Friday. I'm hoping for a Clipse set

"These tickets will be in high demand, so to keep things fair for fans and to keep tickets out of scalpers’ hands, we’re utilizing Ticketmaster Request for this event. Request your tickets now!
The ticket request window is now open and closes on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 11:59pm ET."
Lol they are out of their minds if they think this thing will be in high demand. They're just doing the Ticketmaster request to mine data, add opacity/confusion to the whole process and trick people into buying early. Tickets will be way under face on resale come week of the show.

I’m biased because I really hate DCFC/Postal Service, but was that really the best choice for this? Seems a far stretch to attract the crowd they’d supposedly be targeting here.
