I haven't seen much of anything about Beck's new album lately.. Do you think expecting him to appear on the Farm next year is unreasonable? Does kinda seem like the fest's demo is moving away from his style :/
Did you listen to his last song? I really didn't like it but it fits the new demo of festivals perfectly fine

Yeah Im not a huge fan either. I'm hoping the new album has more of a 'Dreams' sound than a 'Wow' one.

I actually didn't hate Wow, I did however not care at all for the song he released after that. Give it a listen if you want to get really worried about this album

Hopefully Okee's lineup means we are dodging the Lumineers.
Completely agree. Somehow they are touring arenas and are going to try and fill up the Schott here in Columbus. Which would be fairly mind-blowing to me if they are big enough to be able to do that.

I'm pretty sure that show at the Schott is already sold out.

Andrew Bird and Margaret Glaspy. Doesn't look like it's sold out, but I'm told it is very, very close. Like less than 100 seats.
stunning. I guess I'm not nearly as in touch with some acts as I would have thought. They could be a very prominent name on a lot of festivals lineups then I guess.

Their crowd at Music Midtown was huge and it was pouring rain. I think the problem is that people only see them as a one hit band, but a lot of people really loved their first album a lot and it also took them 4 years to put out another album, so there was a lot of anticipation built up. They also sold out 3 nights at the Ryman BEFORE their new album even came out, and they just sold out two nights at Ascend in Nashville.

That's probably a lot to do with it honestly. I probably think they don't have as much of a mass appeal because of the folk aspect of their stuff but I also don't put Avett Bros or Mumford or bands that are arranged in a similar way in nearly as high of a regard at I guess the general public does.

I actually really liked some songs off the first album (Morning Song is soooo good) but the second album was super boring and disappointing, imo. They're one of those acts that I would only see at a festival, and only if there was nothing else I was interested in playing, and even then I might pass for a nap or food or something haha. So yeah, hoping Roo passed on them this year.
Has Alt-J been ruled out? I've not seen them in any mocks.
Haven't played in 4 years I think so that would be a good option for the pop-alternative act. I've heard they don't really mash well live at festivals though.

I actually was in the minority and enjoyed some of the new album (high school me loved the first album), but it felt like an EP with half being filler (the album was only around 35 minutes long anyways). As well, 2 of those songs that were okay or good had already been released, so it was really an album with 8 new songs and only 3 of those were decent.
