Big question: do Eric B. and Rakim's reunion shows include festivals next summer?
Discuss. Or don't if you think it's stupid.
They could, but personally I think it wouldn't work well at festivals. Outside of maybe Slick Rick I don't think 80's rap has aged well.
Agreed on the aging, I threw on some RBL Posse a few days ago I had just dug out of an old storage box. Turned it up...smiled...turned it off.
Fests are a bigger payday than a standard show I do think for most acts...I don't see them passing that up if offered and they shouldn't. And I think that Eric B and Rakim's show works only in a tent after dark. Give all the late 30 and 40 somethings something to run to late night from their wheelhouse.

just saw the orwells for the second time last night. so much fun. lead singer crowd surfed and pointed at the disco ball in the ceiling until everyone lifted him high enough to grab it and rip it out of the wall. a lot of sloppy fun, really hope they hit up a ton of fests this year with the new album.
Hope we can get something like Blues traveler, deep blue somethings, barenaked ladies, the mighty bosstones, the cranberries, or the counting crows. Would be cool to have a 90s act like one of those play. Sorry if any of those don't tour anymore and I said them. I know Blues traveler does cause they play near me this month. Would love if Live was still together. Would be amazing to see Ed sing with them again. Too bad Roo doesn't seem to book more than one of two nostalgic acts like any of them

How are they since Steven Page left? I've always wanted to see them but Page seemed like the heart and soul of the group.

They're fine live. Page leaving mostly turned them into a nostalgia band instead of a group making new music anyone cares about, but they're fun. Goofy and more improvisational than you'd expect. That said, I can't see why they'd play Roo. Theu appear to have a pretty profitable thing going with their Last Summer on Earth tours. Grab a couple of '80s bands with two hits and tour the amphitheatres.
No TN date for Japandroids. Friday night at Bonnaroo, here they come
this would be great, but do we have any indication as to what they will be doing this summer? Thinking as I type here, but its NA through March 20, month break, europe from april 18 through may 6, then nothing. I guess it does make sense, since they have already hit Europe, that they'll hit NA festivals during the summer. ok i feel better.

Common just put out a new album. Would it be too much to ask for them to make an attempt to bring him in for a set? Probably. Would be nice to have a hip-hop veteran on the line up again.

Those bastards scheduled their Chicago show for the Wednesday after Valentine's Day...the hell? I'm gonna be broke assholes, and it's a Wednesday.
I still love them...it's just more reluctant now.
Also, what are the chances we see ole Yim Yames solo again? It's only been two years since MMJ, but I really don't feel like normal rules apply to him with this festival.

Approximately 100%. That's a silly question. It was 2 years between MMJ's 2011 set and his 2013 solo set.

I haven't seen much of anything about Beck's new album lately.. Do you think expecting him to appear on the Farm next year is unreasonable? Does kinda seem like the fest's demo is moving away from his style :/
