I'll probably be one of the few who won't be at FKA Twigs. Reminds me of Aliyah on LSD, and that's not a good thing. Don't care for the music or the the hypnotic dance moves. It's cheesy to me. The thing I love about Grimes is that she's a producer, writer, singer, and dancer all in the same show. All her albums are pretty stellar, and her set at Lolla was wild and fun. Definitely one of my favorite Lolla undercard sets. FKA puts me to sleep, but Grimes has some dynamics on stage. I was shocked when Roo missed out on her.
See I'm the opposite. I'd probably see twigs. Grimes I'd probably skip. I love FKA Twigs' music.

I don't think it is too soon at all. I could see them getting a day time slot on What or Which this time around.. I think Big Grams is done for now... But you know Zach De La Rocha has a new album coming out too.. That would be a pretty great one two punch.

I would love RTJ to return, 2015 show was so wild! Great new track. And I think FKA Twigs would be a great get, her music is so unique I would love to see it performed live. She doesn't seem to hit up too many festivals a year, Roo would be lucky to book her.
If there's one band I just don't get the fuss about, it's Deftones. Someone want to enlighten me here?
Have you ever even listened before? I personally love Chino's voice but I also love the lyrics. Those are the things that really pulled me into their music and made me love them. But maybe because the first album came out in the mid-90s when I was in my late teens/early twenties might have helped, I am not sure they are someone I would have gotten into now in my life just because I have gotten tamer and don't listen to as heavy of music anymore. Besides Crosses, Team Sleep was another side project that Chino did that is pretty great also and not as heavy as Deftones.
I didn't even read this page, but Grimes' live show is fucking great and you're all wrong.
Right? I don't know how you could like experimental electronic pop of any sort and not like Grimes. I love everything from songs like Genesis to epic bangers like Kill V Main. As far as Purity Ring comparisons go, I like Purity Ring but they seem to repeat the same sound over and over again. Grimes is pretty diverse especially with her newest album.

Yeah, Grimes is awesome and Purity Ring is boring AF.
I can personally say that there have been awful shows by Deftones, but the last few years and tours Chino has really turned it around. I have seen them twice in the last three years and both times were great. His voice sounded amazing and they played all the songs you want to hear. There was a time when I would 100% agree but unless you have seen them in the last three years and are saying that due to a show before then, you are very misinformed.

It was quite a awhile ago so that very well could be true. That particular performance left a sour taste in my mouth but they were never really my cup of tea. Which is odd because I like Nu-Metal and all of that but yeah I just wasn't ever really into them too much.
I've seen 'em twice and they are still garbage. I cannot stand their sound.
Do you not like their music to begin with? It takes a lot to win someone over with the live show if the person doesn't like their music to begin with. I saw them at Shaky Knees this year and thought they were incredible. But I was also in the pit so 50% of the focus was on the band and the other 50% was staying alive.

We were front and center during the show this year at the Orpheum, and the pit basically broke out right where I was standing. thejeremy became the defender of the Vieux. In my younger days I would have been all about that, but being pushed slightly in front and to the right of it with big guys protecting me, while Chino sang in my face was a much better deal.
