The ramp to I-75 off University? Hmm.. Wonder how long it will stay closed. I'm still playing it by ear until tomorrow when we see how things are in Gainesville and Miami.

Well...At least III Points is still happening for all 3 days. Gotta admit, that's a huge loss. Not just for the festival, but for me ='( Was really looking forward to both Panthu and LCD. Oh well, still going to have a great time regardless. Gotta look at the bright side of things. If Matthew came in further west when it was between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale's latitude, the entire weekend would've been cancelled.
What happened to "We have backups to our backups and LCD has said they are good with everything"
I get the sense that was all bullshit and LCD cancelled a day or two ago.
Yeah it doesn't make a lot of sense.
People are pissed on III Points FB but I don't blame them for not panic-canceling. The worst part of the storm for the area is Thursday night - Friday morning. I get being mad that your flight was canceled but I appreciate III Points bucking the norm of immediately folding under any perceived danger. It seems like a good situation to prepare for then wait and see how it plays out.
The weather will be significantly better by the time of LCD's set so I don't understand the cancellation. Do they have a show Saturday? Why not reschedule them then? Seems stupid/shady.
I mean they did highlight in that statement "Friday Night". I wonder if that means they're leaving a Saturday option open? They have to be at ACL on Sunday.
LCD cancelled a couple of hours ago. We tried and were working with them all week. It's just logistically impossible to get their buses down here in time for set up and sound checks

This is what I don't understand. If they start to move their gear whenever it is safe to do so, they could still probably get to Miami to play at some point late Friday. If not then they could play Saturday. They have ACL on Sunday but that's touring in a popular band from what I understand.
I don't blame III Points because it sounds like they've tried to make it work from the jump. But it seems like LCD Soundsystem realized ACL pays more than III Points and said it's not worth attempting to make a year long commitment work: "Fuck you and your fans."
