Eh, even the last Killers album (which was by far their least successful) had at least one single that charted in the Top 100. The last time Beck had a single that charted in the Top 100 was in 2005 ("Girl"). That being said, most of Beck's singles since then have been much better songs than "Runaways".
When Dreams dropped it was #13 on the charts and that was just last year.
EDIT: I am sure Delicious Meatball Sub is right. Killers probably won't play unless they headline and Beck doesn't stress it.
Which chart? "Dreams" never cracked the Billboard Top 100. It hit #2 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.

On your Billboard Alternative Chart. I guess because I have been listening to him for over 20 years, I just feel that he is bigger than what he is. I don't think that the Killers should be headlining since they haven't been relevant in years.
Is Beck a Roo headliner? As great as he is he subbed at GovBall and people say The Strokes, who were the actual headliners, aren't big enough to headline Roo
I think something like Beck > Gorillaz would be pretty neat.
"Pretty neat" does not even begin to describe how great that would be. That is one of the best theoretical situations to hope for! If Roo got Arcade Fire, Gorillaz, and Beck, they'd almost certainly have the best top line of any US fest by a long shot.then they could fill the Sunday slot with Neil Young and it'd be one of the best top lines they have ever had, if not THE best
This is pretty optimistic, but I need something to get me through this week of missing Roo. I don't really think Waters is very likely, and who ever knows with Radiohead, but Arcade Fire and even Gorillaz would make a lot of sense in my opinion.
Roger Waters - Arcade Fire - Gorillaz - Beck - Pretty Lights (Live) Lorde - Fleet Foxes - Kygo - Sigur Rós - Chance the Rapper
The fact LCD is headlining every fest this year shows that festivals are not using billboard charts to book their headliners. The killers (even though I hope they don't) are definitely a headliner act.

to be fair Lolla/Roo were in extensive talks with Waters last year. Remember a poster saying that.

I'd think LCD headlining every fest would be more of an argument for Beck as a headliner.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say. Should have been more clear. The thing about the killers was a separate thought. I have no desire to see them again.

Yeah, that's the only reason I threw him in. I didn't really want to put Drake or someone in that vein as the #1 in my mock. Waters would really be a great top headliner. I'm curious to see what direction they go after the supposed low ticket sales this year. Really hoping that they don't go full poptimist
I dunno, when I look at the Killers tour dates and see a bunch of casino shows filling in between headlining sets at 2nd tier festivals, I have a pretty hard time accepting that they're bigger than Beck.
I'm sure the Killers refuse to play fests unless they get to headline. I'd have to imagine Beck could do the same, but doesn't care.
The Killers did sell out the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas earlier this year (April), and since Sam's Town, they've played arenas during their proper album tours.
The casino dates serve as small warm-up gigs for the festival gigs they have been playing. I wouldn't say it has any indication on the status of their popularity as an act.
They're not gonna chance selling half the tickets again.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Drake - Dave Matthews Band - Skrillex
roo could go one of two ways, try to increase revenues or decrease expenses.
increase revenues = book a lineup with big names that sell tickets, kind of like you have above (assuming RHCP still sells tickets like they always have)
decrease expenses = skimp on big names to decrease expenses, and try to make a profit selling 45-50k in tickets.
Dave Matthews Band - My Morning Jacket - Bassnectar
this is exactly how I feel about The Killers. I don't understand why people ever cared about them to begin with.
"Rolling Stone ranked Hot Fuss the 43rd of its "100 Best Albums of the Decade", and it is one of the five most recent recordings listed among the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Gigwise readers voted it the number-one "Best Debut Album of All Time" in 2013 and Rolling Stone ranked it the 33rd of its list of "The 100 Greatest Debut Albums of All Time"

33rd greatest debut album of all time?
I had to know what debut albums were considered not as worthy as The Killer's "Hot Fuss"

What a joke. I can't even.
Better than The Doors, Zeppelin, Sabbath, RATM, The Who, WTF?

I saw The Killers this past Friday at a festival...they 100% could be a headliner at Bonnaroo. Probably in a 3 or 4 slot but if you put them in the Deadmau5/LCD slot they would be perfect and would easily draw a huge crowd. They play the hits and a cover or two and maybe one or two cuts that aren't as notable and play just long enough to enjoy it without getting bored or worn out.

Beck could and should headline if/when he plays next. Saying that...how awesome would it be if they put him at 4th or 5th and gave him a late night which.

I feel so much hatred right now.
Ugh. I hate everyone that helped make that list. What a load of garbage.
I think Arcade Fire are probably the most likely headliner guess we have. Missing out on one of the biggest indie rock bands for two tours in a row would be a bad move on Roo's part, and, despite this year..., I have faith in them booking AF. I'm also going to keep holding out my hopes for Roger Waters. I think if Roo was close to booking him this year and he is playing shows in the fall, so he'll have a show put together, they could potentially make it happen next year. If by some miracle we get both Roger and AF I will be ecstatic. Who would be a reasonable #3 with those two?
