Seeing The Killers at Bunbury this weekend. I will report back if they should be headliners but obviously they should be just because they probably aren't too expensive and they could use that money towards someone else. Bunbury's Headliners are The Killers, Deadmau5, Florence, Ice Cube...Pastaroo
Arcade Fire - Drake - The Killers - Beck - Pretty Lights w. Live Band - The xx - Chance The Rapper
I could live with this. The Killers are the only act I can't stand. I'd probably skip Drake too but he'd at least be ok background music for boozing at the campsite
I like the killers but once you've seen them once you've seen them a thousand times. They haven't put out any good music for a while now. If both arcade fire and the strokes are two of the headliners I would be happy.
I've seen The Killers before, and they put on a badass show! I would be more than ecstatic to see them on the Farm next year (especially since they may have a new album out by then, or at the very least, new material to play).
I too am rooting for the Arcade Fire and The Strokes...and while this horse has been slightly beaten in earlier pages of the thread, I am not giving up hope that we may see the Gorillaz on the top line
I'm not good at all at coming up with artist that will play a year from now! I just know that Muse needs to be a strong possibility! This is purely a wish on my part but they have never played Roo and they keep playing European festivals left and right! Springsteen would be a nice legend act. PJ is playing after 8 years so why not bring Springsteen back?
Is Arcade Fire really the biggest modern rock band in the world?
I honestly don't think so. Radiohead, RHCP, potentially Muse are all bigger. Coldplay is playing US stadiums this summer. Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam are both bigger as live draws.
Maybe their the biggest "modern" band in the sense that they're still making albums with both critical and commercial appeal (although so is Radiohead), but even so, they'd be a pretty disappointing #1 for me.

I feel like even stuff like Arctic Monkeys, Mumford, Black Keys and Vampire Weekend are more popular at this point in time, but I might just be really underestimating the draw of Arcade Fire.
For Reference on Arcade Fire, their billing at 2016 fests:
NOS alive: Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Chemical Bros. bilbao: arcade fire, pixies, foals wayhome: LCD, Arcade Fire, Killers panorama - only has the by-day on the poster, but its Arcade Fire (Fri), Kendrick(sat), LCD(Sun)
so, take that as you will. I'm still flabbergasted that people want the killers as a headliner. I think the most impressive thing about them is they have been able to ride the success of "somebody told me" to the top of festival posters a decade later.

I'm a fan of the Killers and have been so for a decade. FINALLY got to see them last year at Firefly and hey we're great. Since I chased them for over 5 years unsuccessfully, I would never say no to seeing them on the farm! That's just my 2 cents on the matter!
I would love to see Arcade Fire on the farm as well but I don't see them as a #1 headliner. #2 without a doubt! I feel it's just so tough to get a gauge on next year! I think we get 2 Rock acts and either a hip hop or legend and 1 dynamite EDM for Which late night! I'm thinking some form of Diplo or Calvin Harris/David Guetta

Arcade Fire is what got me to finally go to a music festival, at the age of 35. Them alone. So if it wasn't for Arcade Fire playing Roo in 2011 you guys wouldn't know me.

hey no hate towards AF, I was just surprised at them being considered the biggest band in the world. We're definitely lucky that they played Roo though for this reason alone!

I'd be pretty disappointed with both Arcade Fire and The Killers on the same lineup for Roo next year. Unless the third act is absolutely mind blowing, I don't want to see 2/3 of this years Wayhome top 3 the following year at a festival that has lacked in creativity the past two years.

I'm able to bend my thinking to accept the headlining status of many bands I don't necessarily care for, but I am also completely perplexed that somehow The Killers are still as popular as they are. You might as well take any other band with a hit from 2004-2006 and call them 2016 headliners.
On that note, a few headliner options for Bonnaroo 2016, culled from the Billboard Hot 100 circa 2004-2006:
Lifehouse 3 Doors Down Akon James Blunt Chamillionaire The Fray Five For Fighting
Why the hell not? Lets put Lifehouse in the headliner slot and see what happens.

I agree with this. I love Arcade Fire, and The Killers were great 8 years ago, but I don't want Killers to headline. I don't understand how they are still headlining and I would need something spectacular in the #3 spot, that was #1 & 2.

The Fray are actually touring right now, but were they ever a headliner? I know they weren't when they played Voodoo a million (ok 7 or 6) years ago.
