The fact that Big Sean is a bigger selling point than ASAP Rocky makes me question what people see in Big Sean. He has to be one the most offensively average and faceless rapper out now.
Big Sean is a better rapper and performer than ASAP Rocky, fight me.
We can fight if you find me a Big Sean song that's half as interesting, catchy, charismatic, and downright influential as "Peso".
I'm in my phone so I don't feel like going bit by bit on this dead end argument, but imma say no to all of those except "Control" but 0% of that has to do with Big Sean.
Chance the Rapper will be the highest billed rapper of Roo '17
billed where? i dont know if i see him breaking the top 6 unless he puts out another album/mixtape by winter, and they've had a hip hop act in the top 4 the past 3 years. Roger Waters - Drake - The Killers - Beck - Lana Del Rey - Jack U - Chance is something I can see happening

I think as is, he would be top 10 on the bill. I could see it happening if Drake and Jay Z aren't booked
I'd be happy to see the new album get Arcade Fire the bump up to #1 (which would be kind of a stretch in terms of popularity I think) I don't think they'll get #1 but, it'd be neat and they haven't been at roo since 2011 and I feel they certainly deserve it. Honestly, the only problem I'm having when trying to picture a realistic is trying to prevent it from being too white. There aren't too many likely rap artists for roo that can go in the top 6 (Kendrick, J Cole, maybe Chance, Drake, Jay Z) I could see them getting Chance at the #6 and then getting Method Man & Redman a couple spots after them to make up for the lack of a big name.
U2 - Arcade Fire - Lana Del Ray
Vampire Weekend - (some garbage EDM) - Chance the Rapper
Would it even be possible for 2017 to have a whiter top line than Pearl Jam - Dead & Co - LCD Soundsystem?
It's not out of the question. Top 5 in 2012 was: Radiohead - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Phish - The Beach Boys - Bon Iver. Top 5 in 2013 was: Paul McCartney - Mumford & Sons - Tom Petty - Bjork - Wilco.

If they're booking Method Man & Redmam a couple spots after Chance, we've got serious issues. They're like the 40th name on the Riot Fest lineup.

Yeah, I think someone on the popularity level of Schoolboy Q would be much more likely in that spot.
I find it hard to believe Drake would be billed anywhere but #1
kanye was easily big enough to be #1 in 2014 but a legend act can negate that
Ooh, yeah good point. Billing is kinda weird that way. Larger point though is that (for better or worse) he's probably one of the most popular artists on the planet

I know we've talked it to death in here but I just don't see how Drake is pulling in some huge number of ticket draws. I think if you got a Beyonce or JT or someone like that to be a #1 on the bill you'd get more casual attendees spending the money to come than a Drake. That's just my opinion but it seems even friends I have that really like him are starting to dial back on it because his past 2 albums haven't been very good supposedly! (I don't listen to his stuff outside of whatever song might become mega bit once in awhile though so I'm looking at it as an outsider)

as a moderate drake fan, i think its tough to say his last two albums havent been good. IYRTITL was a surprise album and is really solid imo, but had no hype. VIEWS has had over a year of hype so theres no way it could of lived up to expectations. VIEWS is still decent but its not really doing anything big.

I know the "but do they play MSG?" is kind of a joke, but he has 4 consecutive dates there on his tour. So unless they get someone huge I can't see Drizzy being anything other than #1
Drake is the biggest name in music right now, he broke the billboard record by currently having 20 songs in the top 100.
1/5th of the top 100 songs are by Drake right now. Think about that.
haha it has me a little worried about the state of mainstream music and I'm clearly in the minority of their target audience anyways. If they ever got him and put him #1 I would just hope they would not blow all their money on that and really stacked up the rest of the top 2 lines and undercard.
Personally, I'd rather have The Weeknd over Drake.

I've now had two different dreams of:
Radiohead - The Weeknd - The Killers - Lana Del Rey
Which would be pretty decent for me. I like The Weeknd & The Killers enough (my sister really loves them both so she would be floored), I love Lana and I am just beginning to get into Radiohead. Dunno how realistic that would be for a top line, but sometimes my dreams are eerily accurate, so there's my .02¢

This is mainly due to how Billboard now counts music streams into their charts, which skews favor toward artists with big albums like Drake's. I agree he's super popular, but definitely not the biggest name in music. Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Adele, and others still have him beat.

Right now he is the biggest, it'll change again in a month, but right now, today, Drake is the one in the spotlight.
