I saw her at Outside Lands and can also confirm that she is indeed fantastic live. Considering her current popularity it seems like there's a good chance she'll be there, along with loads of cute girls wearing the face paint.

She opened for Sunset Rubdown when I saw them a couple years ago. I had never heard of her/them, but it was cool seeing her set up all the vocal and drum loops during the performance. I'd definitely like another chance now that I actually know what I'd be seeing.

I saw them earlier this year at the Exit/In in Nashville and I have to say she is one of the most amazing live performers I have every seen. Incredible to say the least. Bonnaroo would be dropping the ball if they didn't get her.
COS named her one of the top live performers of the year. Seems to be a general consensus on the live show. I loved it when I saw them but for me the energy never quite exploded, though it boiled near the top the top for the whole show. I was just waiting for a moment to bring it all over the edge and that didn't quite happen. I think she was maybe a little to stop/start between songs for that set.

that moment for me was definitely Bizness
The closer "My Country" killed it at the Exit/In. It was incredible.
I just saw a link to an article about her on ESPN of all places lol.. But just put it on on Spotify and I am really diggin it. It made me search google for 'tune-yards bonnaroo' lol. I would love to see this there Thursday night.

^ Nice essay by Chuck. I've never thought of Merril as androgynous though. I got her to sign my Fun Fun Fun Fest lineup poster only to lose it downtown during the aftershows. Since she's opening some shows for St. Vincent it would be great if they could both make it to Bonnaroo this year. I know St. Vincent is playing a couple of Tennessee shows, but I don't think that would hurt the chances too much for a mid tier act.
She does have a giant gap in her schedule in June. They're fantastic and I do believe Roo would be a great environment for them. Thursday night or Friday afternoon seems like a good fit for them I'd say. If they are coming, fingers crossed, I will without a doubt be at that set start to finish.

Her involvement with Outside Lands would make this seem very likely...looking forward to it, but would we agree on a Thursday set, or mid-day slot on Fri/Sat?
