Seeing them live is even better than the record. This is a cool Tiny Desk concert they did:
Glad you posted this... I've listened to a lot of the recorded stuff and didn't see the appeal, but watching that video it clicked for me. Definitely interested in checking them out now.

Worth noting she's performing a live score for Buster Keaton shorts in San Francisco next monday. Fingers crossed for a Cinema Tent and Sonic Stage in addition to her regular set.

I watched a tiny bit of the Coachella stream. I just don't get it. I have heard great reviews from numerous people on this board, but I can't listen to her for more than 5 minutes at a time.

tune-yards and Destroyer would have been a tough conflict for me at Coachella. Just was hopping back and forth between them during the Coach stream. That thing is so well done

It's that Afro-beat that gets me to start shaking a tail-feather.

It took me a while to really 'get' Tune-Yards. I mostly avoided them for a while due to the stupid way they insist on stylizing their name (tUnE-yArDs). Anyway, this song is what really did it for me:
Maybe I'm crazy, but it gives me a Ween vibe. I'm really not sure why.

Just got into Tune-yards a couple weeks ago. I found it really hard to get into at first, but now I understand the genius behind it. Definitely one of my most anticipated acts. Opening This Tent on Friday too!

It's enclosed with limited seating. If there's seats available you can walk right in, but I think they'll clear you out if an event is happening in the next time slot. Last year two friends tried to go for Zach Braff doing the Garden State Q&A and arrived facing a large line. For that I'm 90% sure they handed out tickets for the event and then those with tickets lined up outside well before it started. I do know neither of my friends got in. Basically, if you want to catch this, come around early and ask the cinema workers how they'll be doing it. Also, show up plenty early and check out the line situation if it ends up being a ticketed thing.
