It took me several tries over the years to get through the first third of that movie, which I finally did last year. It's quite slow and dare I say boring at times but holy shit the payoff.
Still haven't made it through. You have given me hope.
I fell asleep the first two times watching it when I was younger. Okay and I fell asleep the third time too and had to finish it the next day last year, but I don't think that took away from it at all. Will have to do a rewatch again.

This is the movie that made me say that I'll never again doubt a Kubrick film so if you don't care for him YMMV in re: your enjoyment/appreciation of the film.

A Clockwork Orange? Full Metal Jacket? 2001 and its cousin 2010? OG Spartacus? The Shining? Dr. Strangelove? I don’t even watch that many movies but I think he carved out a bronze sculpture of his bust among the greatest directors. Maybe it’s me?

I've only seen The Shining (okay) and Eyes Wide Shut (yawn).

The first half of Full Metal Jacket is great. And that’s all I have to say about that.
Y’all be careful tonight in central MS, AL and GA. Pretty realistic tornado threat is hanging over you. May or may not materialize but it’s worth keeping an eye on.
Edit happy holiday. I’m in the middle of a tornado warning in central Escambia county. So far just winds and thunder and lightning. Nya-a-a /Curly

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

We're doing interviews this week via the web conferencing. During one of the interviews today, the applicant mentioned he was out of town at the moment which worked out for him because he didn't have to worry about his dog or children making noise or breaking into the interview. He continued that he was in Manchester, TN which is a small town halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga. Because I'm trying to act professional since I don't know them yet, I politely nod along with everyone else. "Yeah. I think I know where you're talking about."
Side note: Interviews via web conference are just as exhausting as regular ones.

I did a b2b2b Skype interview once and it was awful and during the last one my cat walked behind me on the couch and I was just wide eyed like, that's my cat...
