Heartless Bastards will be in Athens on 5/18 and Chattanooga on 5/22. No dates scheduled in between.
^Srsly? I love finding out about shows in my town from people who live 2hrs away! I probably wouldn't have known if it wasn't for you. Thanks for the heads-up!
I know it's just a dude on Twitter, but this dude on Twitter says Dave Matthews is playing Hangout on Sunday. His source is some private DMB message board.
For those asking, no, I cannot give you any details on the lineup, no matter what your reason. And yes, anyone privy to lineup details who leaked them would be asking for some retribution....no one likes a friend who can't keep a secret! Hints , guesses, wishes and speculation (a great album title for anyone band who needs one) are all in good fun though. Red herrings are neat fish too.
But, early next week we'll be able to talk at length about the lineup. Keep in mind there multiple announcements last year....the inital lineup reveal, then additions to THAT lineup in the following weeks that contained some major acts....
I've seen the same rumor about DMB on AntsMarching.org. Could be legit. They also said lineup will be Monday.
*sigh* if this is true I may need some awesome soul to adopt me to their condo for the weekend. I will pay well. As Ive said numerous times my friends suck and never want to do anything outside of Pittsburgh that costs more then $100
So another one bites the dust. Sasquatch! Music Festival (edit: not impressive by any means) just announced their lineup and the dates for that fest are the weekend after Hangout. Hangout announced their 2011 lineup on Feb 1st last year...

It's only February 3rd...its not like some huge travesty is occurring. They're dropping it on Monday, and no amount of bitching is going to change that. We're all anticipating the lineup, but let's be real...it's 6 days later than a previous year's date that was by no means set in stone.
We'll be aight. Hopefully the long wait was due to finalizing some locks on artists.
Hopefully the organizers will realize they need to start "locking in" those artists a little earlier next year, so they dont have to wait til the last minute to drop the lineup.

Red herrings, eh? This makes me even more confident those on-air Springsteen hints won't amount to anything. Pretty tricky, Pablo.
That insider person on the Hangout forum said one of the solo artists is from LA. Recently announced Sasquatch headliner Beck is a solo artist from LA. Discuss.
Does Hangout sell payment plan tickets or are they all paid for up front?
I dont think they've done the payment plan the past two years, and with only 3 months away I'm under the assumption that it would be the same way this year also.

what a croc
p.s. sometimes you tell your loud mouth friends things (like a name or two) precisely because they are a loud mouth...think about it

i know we all want the lineup as soon as possible, but just to reiterate what has already been said: Hangout will sellout regardless. like someone on their facebook page was joking, they could probably just not release a lineup at all and tell you to show up friday may 18th at 11am, and STILL sell out.
because for hangout, the cap is 35,000. this is different from a bonnaroo that needs to sell what, 80,000 tickets? so it behooves bonnaroo more to get that lineup out earlier.

Im sure the majority of them were locked in. tix go on sale Friday the 10th lineup will be Feb the 6th. Same deal as last year. Its not like festivals are selling out all around you.
I have to agree with you, when other festivals already have a lineup available its easy to forget about the ones you are waiting on. I know who is playing sasquatch. I know who is playing jazz fest. I know who is headlining roo. I might just start buying my tickets. Whoops! No money left over for hangout.. If only they would have given us a name or two instead of empty promises

Exactly! We KNOW there are reliable acts at many other festivals!

I am waiting on the lineup to decide if I will buy a ticket this year. Jack White is a huge get and will go a long way toward getting me to buy tickets.
COS is a pretty reliable website, so I definitely trust this info. Not excited however.
Also, I dont want to beat a dead horse by bringing this up, but ANYONE know why Medeski, Martin and Wood only had a 1 hour set at noon last year??? Things like that add up to the disappoinment factor that I've encountered both years...

Jack White is huge for me. I'm suddenly much less concerned about the lineup. As far as I'm concerned now, they can take another week or two if they need it.
Jack White confirmed, with M. Ward, St. Vincent, and Heartless Bastards looking likely. Maybe even Lee Ranaldo? And I would actually be surprised if they don't get Ben Folds Five. That's a great start for me.
I am sure I will get flamed for this, but when they say headliner, do you think he will be in one of the top 3 spots like Foo Fighters, Widespread, and Paul Simon? I enjoy Jack White. But to me, it seems like he would be in one of the spots last year held by Flaming Lips or Black Keys. If I am totally underestimating the popularity of this new project, then I apologize.
I think he'll definitely be in one of the top 3 headlining spots, same spots as paul simon and the foos last year.
Jack White is a HUGE get. He doesn't have an enormous list of solo songs, so he'll undoubtedly have to play stuff he's written with the Raconteurs and the White Stripes. I personally am unbelievably psyched by this. Old White Stripes rocks so hard. Its so bare bones and his guitar melts faces. Check this out and imagine being 50 feet away from it on a beach.

Chaveznwo, that was what I initially thought, too. And I can still see a situation where he's a secondary headliner like MMJ or the Black Keys, particularly if the lineup is really as huge as has been suggested. It wouldn't shock me to see him as one of the top 3, though.
