There is also a glaring lack of EDM acts in that lineup.
...that is usually for the best.
Well considering the success of those shows last year and the fact that they have mentioned many times that there will be an even larger tent this year, I would assume there would be quite a few.
Just pointing out another flaw in that fake lineup.

That was a red flag for me as well.
That lineup just looks like Jazz Fest + Mountain Jam + Waka shuffled together, with a few additions.

Yeah, I will agree w/ the success of the tent last year. And I will admit, I did want to see a couple acts in there, however I missed Xavier Rudd and Big Gigantic purely to the masses packed into that little tent. It definitely wasnt worth the trouble trying to catch anything in there, except OCMS...
The Hangout site is still down at the moment. Hoping it brings an update when it comes back to life.
This was posted yesterday: Lineup and ticketing announcement is coming your way in the next couple of days.
A couple is two. I really expect something by tomorrow.
It does mean two, but people abuse the fuck out of that word. I'm thinking they make an announcement about the announcement tomorrow, detailing exactly when and how the lineup will be rolled out, with the actual lineup following on Monday. At least that's what I'm choosing to believe so that I can actually be productive for the next two days.

That was my take of it. I'd love to be wrong though.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Their facebook site is also down. I'm thinking the lineup is about to be released!
I have completely cleared my cache and can still get on their site. What are you guys talking about?
When I try to go to Hangout's site, I get the this website is under maintenance message. Their facebook site will not load for me either. I went to a bunch of random sites to see if maybe it was my computer, but every other site I went to loaded fine. Weird stuff.
edit: The facebook page finally loaded for me but the main site still doesn't. Could just be my computer who knows.
Something is definitely lacking here when you look at it in the big picture. Almost all of the other summer/springtime fests have released their lineups and they all look pretty ridiculous. Waka, Summercamp, Electric Forest, MoeDown, Mountain Jam, Wanee, Etc... You would think Hangout wants to somewhat compete, but I'm sure this delay has definitely caused some fans to commit to other festivals this year.

Hangout has no need to compete. They will sell out. Regardless.
Sadly the life of this funky momma appears to have been cut short. During her time with Phish she showed her never-ending stamina, her sizzling raunch, her breathtaking peaks, and put the fun back in funk. In the dance, her spirit lives on. To know “Katy” is to love her.

That's true. The delay might aggravate those of use who obsess over festivals, but we are ultimately a minority.

You're probably right. The only reason it sells out though is because it is on the beach. While the lineup for the past two years have been good, they have still been equivalent to many fests that are happening round the same time. Take for instance, all good last year, the lineup for the most part was pratically the same. I almost take it personally (being a local has a lot to do with it) that they have waited this long to announce a lineup, but kyejwe hit it on the nose, our opinions ultimately do not matter at this point in time.

Just a few things things here.. -The fact that it is on the beach is not the reason why it sells out- see Deluna Fest (fail). -I am a local as well. I don't know why you would take this personally. They came out with the lineup around the same time last year. What did you expect?

Well, the reason DeLuna Fest failed is because their lineup was absolute shit. Like I noted previously, Hangout's lineup was good, just as good as any other festival. But, by no means, did it blow any of the other festivals out of the water. There are a lot of people who travel to this fest and a lot of locals, however IMO this festival is definitely not geared toward locals. Therefore, it's gimmick factor is packing people on our white sandy shores. No shade, grounds are too small, baseheads running rampant and way too many people in general. I say lets go to the mountains this year folks!

Haha, I feel you. Let's hope this year's lineup WILL blow everyone out of the water. (It will be worth my $50 tix I'm sure.) Headed for those hills sooner than later! ;D

...AND what did i expect? Actually, now that you ask, I didnt expect much more than i have gotten at this point. I paid too much last year for Hangout and knew that I probably wouldnt go this year. The lineup clashed so badly on the first day last year, it didnt make any sense whatsoever. Wanee and Bear Creek this year. Those are always reliable options.

I hear ya! I wish I couldve gotten my hands on one of those precious little boogers. I'm sure they will have some jaw dropping announcement and I'm sure I'll be kicking myself in the ass for not going this year...

Personal taste obviously affects how much you like any given lineup, but Hangout has much bigger acts than most similarly sized festivals. The top 6 headliners last year (Simon, Foos, Panic, MMJ, Black Keys, FLips) could top line any other festival in the country. I think that's part of why the lineup was such a shocker last year - you got multiple bands big enough to headline Roo/Lolla/Coach at a festival with only half the capacity. Obviously the bigger festivals have deeper, more diverse lineups, something Hangout won't be able to do unless they considerably expand their space. But they definitely deliver something bigger than Wanee, All Good, Summer Camp, etc. Just look at Primus. They had #2 billing at All Good last year, and they've got the #3 spot at Waka this year. They were a third tier band at Hangout last year.
