Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I have to agree with you, when other festivals already have a lineup available its easy to forget about the ones you are waiting on. I know who is playing sasquatch. I know who is playing jazz fest. I know who is headlining roo. I might just start buying my tickets. Whoops! No money left over for hangout.. If only they would have given us a name or two instead of empty promises
what have they promised?
I posted that before knowing about jack white, but the empty promise would be all the talk of the lineup being unbelievable and jaw dropping. my jaw will stay undropped until I see it In print. But jack white is huge
If we are comparing to last year and Jack White is one of the Top 3, then maybe we have something like this: Foo Fighters- Jack White Widespread Panic- Dave Matthews Band (assuming that rumor is true) Paul Simon- ??? I would think an older legend type act here

i'm thinking more like wsp-dmb, paul simon-jack white, foo fighters-rhcp. but also i think there could be more than 3 "headliners". they could do it like lolla with dual headliners if they wanted to. last year they never had the 2 big stages conflicting but if they did, they could fit more in.

I am working with the same thought there are more than 3 and Jack White is headlining the 2nd stage like MMJ did last year. That example above was just if he is one of the Top 3.

Well that's a possibility because they will have a larger area this year, wouldn't surprise me a bit.

I'm thinking Jack White will take over The Black Keys spot on Sunday and then possibly join the older Headline closer on Sunday for a song or two. Hopefully, the Chili Peppers take the Foo Fighters Saturday closing spot.

not necessarily here, but i'm surprised at the lack of respect Jack White is getting as a headliner. he is definitely top 3. i'm assuming he'll come out with an awesome band and play White Stripes tunes in addition to his new solo stuff. guys who wrote and will be performing songs like Seven Nation Army don't perform in anything other then top 3.

actually fuck that i don't care what songs he plays jack white could fart on a drum and for forty five minutes and still be in the top 3.
Metallica played Bonnaroo in 2008, I'm not sure if that makes it more or less likely to play another fest (like Hangout). Not to say something bad about Metallica (I would be seriously pumped to see them play the Hangout) but they would the perfect example of a band that would hijack the organizers and dictate the lineup announcement date by themselves. I don't think the organizers are necessarily looking to abide by a formula of "Jam band/Rock band/Aging Superstar" either. Metallica looks like a credible rumor to me.

Here's not hoping for Metallica. If for any reason, bringing Metallica to the beach is going to radically change the crowd dynamic. Just a guess, but I think I know the area pretty well. TK101, the local rock station, will make sure every redneck from Biloxi to Panama City has plans to be at Hangout this year to hear the bitchin Metallica show. Half my family will end up showing up.
Looks like Metallica will be in the middle of an European tour during the month of may. They don't have any dates scheduled for the Hangout weekend, but I don't think they're going to fly back for one show. www.metallica.com/tour_overview.asp

looks like metallica is a moot point since they will be in europe, but i wanted to address this point anyway. i know exactly the type of crowd you are talking about, since i've been going to metal/rock shows on the gulf coast for years, but i don't think your average avenged sevenfold fan would have the dedication necessary to snag a hangout ticket. festival people are going to snatch these things up faster then pecan waffles at 2am.
(I saw Metallica once..Woodstock 99. It was my worst memory of it. Granted, I was young and was right next to speakers, but I have no urge to ever see them again)
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Caddyshaq I can't explain my jealousy. The sets were great. How was the venue? I may be shooting for the stars but I would like to see tool, phish/ cheese, beach boys , weir Greene Robinson trio, Zach deputy, big Krit or big boi, govt mule , then lots and lots of acts to make me danceeee. This festival rocked my socks off last year I'm ready for round two. The lineup could have lady gaga I'd still go
