Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I hope that is true, but it might be false. The poster goes by the name Moderator and is also a guest on those forums. It's possible, but I have some doubt.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
My friend said he saw something on someone's Facebook wall that said it would be The Beach Boys, RHCP, String Cheese, Eddie Vedder, and Bon Iver. It was most likely just someone's guess. But it seems possible, yet underwhelming.

Been waiting for them to bring the lineup. Have a feeling we will see a lot of the bands at Roo. But I have to say I'm glad I'm not going to this fest. Was way to crowded and cops were everywhere. Did have a lot of fun at the late night shows. Heard they were cutting those out? And I def would buy a condo near the fest b4 I bought a ticket... Shuttle lines were so long. We had a condo about a quarter of a mile away. Could watch the fest from our balcony. Only way I would do it again... And it's not this year. Doing Waka instead. Waiting on the Roo lineup b4 I decide for sure. But it was pretty cool to lay on the beach and watch a show. Wish they would of let u walk down to the ocean. The ocean was blocked off with a little wood fence. Cops on atv's would just ride up and down the oceanside and patrol. Watched the cops point people out in the crowds. Saw them jump over and run to arrest a couple people for smoking green on the beach. Pretty lame. If you go, don't be stupid.

I went from being crazy super stoked about this lineup's potential to preparing myself for disappointment. but who knows, they definitely had some surprises last year lineup release day. we'll know sooner rather then later.

They are extending the festival grounds out into the main street and a block up beyond the surf shops on the corner. So festival grounds will be much, much bigger than the previous two years.

I didn't really look at this thread last year before the fest, who was rumored?

"Don't be stupid" is really the best advice for anyone going to Hangout. Don't approach it like Waka or Roo or any other festival that's kind of removed from civilization and exists in its own temporary universe. Hangout is right in the middle of a beach town, with businesses and residences all around the festival grounds. Use the same discretion you would at a city fest and you'll be fine.

Simon had been rumored, but was far from a sure thing. Foo Fighters looked like a done deal. Panic had been mentioned as well. Early confirmations included Medeski Martin Wood, Umph, and the Flaming Lips. There were some solid indicators that MMJ would be there in the days leading up to the festival.
I think the biggest surprise last year was how deep the lineup was. It was kind of a shock to see all the above names plus The Black Keys, Cee-Lo, Primus, etc.

Hopefully everyone can assuage my concerns. Someone posted on the Hangout Facebook page that the local radio 101.7 (Pensacola) had named Guns and Roses as a headliner. Thoughts? (and apologies to any GNR fans but a slashless GNR and an overweight Axel are not Hangout material.)

GnR 20 years ago = Incredible top tier headliner
GnR now = A joke, but i'll still check them out regardless
If they're the best the fest has this year, i'll be extremely disappointed.
A large festival like Hangout would be perfect for me to see the current lineup of Guns N Roses in. If they suck, oh well, there's other stuff to do. And like Chav said, I would prefer to see GNR to RHCP.
RHCP may have lost Frusciante (which I admit is a huge loss) but they still for the most part are the same band that they have always been. GnR is not even GnR. It's Axl Rose and a bunch of no-names playing GnR songs.
I can't understand why people would prefer this version of GnR over RHCP, with the exception of just hating RHCP's music in general.

Do you have the link to that post? Because I don't see it and if Hangout deleted it....

Well, I generally hate everything RHCP has done beginning with Californication, so I'd probably still prefer Scabs n Roses to RHCP even if Frusciante hadn't bailed.
This is probably moot, though. I'm still skeptical about the GnR rumor. Isn't Axl still a total diva about set times? I can't imagine him agreeing to play a set that would start at 9 at the latest, and I doubt Hangout would take a gamble on such a notorious flake.

Fair points. However, if I am going to wait around for Axl Rose to come on stage, it doesn't get much better than on a beach.

That's true, the beach is a great waiting room. Plus, if Axl decides to Danzig it up and come on at 10:15, the crowd will be so thin you could get close enough to see his hairline. And think of the tantrum he would throw when they cut his mic at 11.
If the post was deleted and that means the radio statoin does know something, then I imagine it will be midnight tonight. It is just hard to imagine no announcement that the lineup was coming soon.

Why do you think midnight tonight? I just don't want to stay up late to wait for nothing...I have work in the morning.
