Wilco's unmitigated hate for Philadelphia and Boston continues, neither city having received a show since before the release of their three most-recent records. But they are taking their December Winterlude series on the road, instead of doing it in Chicago this year. Two of the three cities they're playing received 2023 shows. Rich get richer, I suppose.

Posting this here, too: If anyone is looking for a ticket to St. Vincent's show Weds. 9/11 at Brooklyn Paramount, I am selling one for the best offer I can get.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 11/18 - Slowdive @ Brooklyn Paramount 11/21 - Caribou @ Avant Gardner 11/23 - LCD Soundsystem @ Knockdown Center 11/25 - TV on the Radio @ Webster Hall 12/5 - LCD Soundsystem @ Knockdown Center 12/7 - LCD Soundsystem @ Knockdown Center
The new record may end up being top 10 of the year for me. Gotta catch one of these dates.
Caught the last 20 minutes of their early afternoon half-hour set at Boston Calling last year and was surprised that half of the songs appeared to be new and unreleased, after I had listened to the debut album a few times to familiarize myself with the material before the festival. They must have been songs from the new album.
Not seeing a lot of excitement for the Mike Portnoy reunion run with Dream Theater cmon guys.

(I just hope that Boston and NYC don't get shortchanged with a shorter headlining set because there's an opening act, as opposed to all of the other shows on the tour. St. Vincent fans have already been taken care of; she played both cities this week. It would be a shame if Cave played for, say, an hour and 45 min at these shows as opposed to two hours and 15 min at every other show, because they decided to play larger venues and have an opener with some drawing power of their own. "I'm sorry, I know that our burgers are kind of small, but just look at those fries and that parsley garnish.")

I think there'll be openers everywhere else, just not as big a name. And their sets will be the same length, I think they just have her for extra selling power to fill these larger venues.

I bet big on a particular staging configuration for the Cave show. I'm in the side section closest to the stage, next to the first unused side section which directly faces the side of the stage. If the stage sides are open and not covered in any manner, and there are a few PA speakers angled towards those side sections, both sound and view should be fantastic. But if the PA stacks face forward only and the stage sides are covered, it won't be a great experience (I'm literally at the end of the aisle and my seat is almost exactly parallel with the edge of the stage.)
Years ago, I sat similarly positioned at a Springsteen show at TD Garden, and it was a fantastic spot.

He has had openers before and still played for 2 hours in the past. I have seen him with 2 openers and he still did a 2 hour set. So, whats the issue? Paid too much money and hope you dont feel like you wasted an evening out cause he cut out 2 songs cause a girl with a guitar needed time on stage?
