At Moogfest this weekend, an Inforoo-er ran into Ashley Capps (of AC Entertainment) and claims he said Daft Punk will be headlining. Now, I am not said Inforoo-er but I did see Ashley Capps and saw some people from our group talking to him, so its possible he's telling the truth.

I'm 90% sure that's false... I heard this Inforooster ran into Capps but no words were exchanged. We'll let him clear it up ;D
People think Daft Punk is a pipe dream and impossible because everyone wants them every year, and actually expects them, and are let down when they don't play.
However, they do play festivals, and AC has booked them for a different festival, so as long as they are touring it is entirely reasonable, and more likely than not, that they will play. With credible rumors of a tour, this is the most likely year for them since 2006 (and only possible time their name should be thrown around).

Where are the credible rumors of a tour? Other than that I agree with you we will see them one day again for sure.

Those rumours come from a statement by the manager of the firm that represents Daft Punk, basically confirming a tour. Nothing has been said since though, although there were further reports that Daft Punk turned down Coachella because the tour would not be ready until late Summer 2011 at the earliest, a deadline which has clearly passed. So there are legitimate sources, but nothing recent has been heard.

Well I will go ahead and ammend my statement to no legit sources in the past year, except for one that was wrong. Personally I doubt they will tour without a new album, and there is no word on that either.
No, guys, I walked right past AC when I was exiting Brian Eno's talk and he told me Paul McCartney w/ Ringo Starr, Radiohead, and David Bowie were headlining with an Outkast late night.
He didn't say it with his mouth, but he said it with his eyes, guys. He said it with his eyes.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
I'm doubtful. These sounds, the drums and synths, they really don't sound like Daft Punk to me. The drum fills in particular sound kinda sketchy, no velocity control whatsoever.
Boy, will my face be red when it turns out that these ARE actually new DP songs.
Edit: I was only referring to the youtube link ntellier posted. Upon listening, these other songs sound VERY Daft Punk, but almost a little TOO Daft Punk. Like someone who is pretty decent at producing put on their best Daft Punk mask and then made these songs. The synths in LCD especially.

The youtube video I posted is definitely a legit Daft Punk song. but its a colab with TRS-80
Ah, I didn't hear about that, and I'm assuming they were working with TRS-80s palette rather than their own, which is probably why they synths and drums sounded so "not daft punk-y" to me.
"I mean, Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees." "this whole situation has just turned his whole life upside down face."
