Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
And the list grows. If I mess up your name or whatever, let me know. Getting more excited to meet you all!
Holls I am very excited to be VIP this year. Not sure about splitting a tix. Do not wait for me if you can find someone else who wants to split, do it, do not wait on me. Looking forward to meeting the Arcade crew!
Katy Mae, do not know you, but sorry you can not make it. We can get a card board cut out of you and set you up at camp, take some pics with you, take you to some shows. You may not be there but the pictures will show otherwise.
Bunny I do not know about the theme, but I would like to. I am sure that will be talked about in the weeks to come.
Hey guys..I don't have a facebook page for me personally, but I have on for my business. When you're logged in to facebook, search for Carnation Optical and (shameless plug) "like" me please. I put it up last summer woHoo free advertising! Of course if any of you need have any optical needs (glasses, contacts, shades whatever), I can give you a really nice 'roo discount. I'm also a big fan of bartering (ask Idio, lol)... I'm also on twitter : @carnationoptic
For those new to the VIP Inforoo camp, we have a theme each year. Previous years have been: Taj MaTarp, Alice in Tarpland and Dark Side of the Tarp - with a consistent sub-theme of "if you follow our plan you will be set up and have a beer in hand by noon."
Here is the list of themes so far suggested:
ý'Roo-mspringhe - I believe we were sitting around under Idio's tent "conversing" when this one was suggested.
Discoroo - Mirrored balls, fun and funky deco
Tarpocalypse - end of the world, 10th year anniversary, let's make this shit nuts
And if we get Radiohead *fingers crossed* - Fake Plastic Tents
So, what does everyone think? I know the discussion on my FB wall seemed to be leaning toward Roo-mspringhe, until Keith and Dean got all Steampunk/Apocalypse-y. Love you guys... even though you rarely show your face on Inforoo.
Wait, we're gonna have a blanket fort?!? I am an expert in blanket forts. In fact, my 4-year-old nephew has just discovered blanket forts... except he calls them The Nothing To Do Forts (we have no idea why).
I just have this vision of people's face, when a group rolls up into VIP and sets up camp next to them with Rocky Horror theme. Then we bust out The Time Warp dance!
NOT that I am even really seriously considering doing VIP this year....at least yet...though it's always a possibility...still not sure WHAT I am doing this year. Waiting til the lineup is out to make any firm plans. Though tis murder I'll admit but with Hangout a given practically I have to really justify Roo this year so...sigh. I hate delimas But maybe I can find a way...
But if I DO find a way to pull it off..the Disco theme would fit PERFECTLY...since I was totally gonna have an AWESOME disco ball costume for VooDoo this year that I wasn't able to pull off in time for Halloween...but could finish up in time for Roo if I knew I was gonna be doing Camp with you guys and that was the theme...but..don't know if it will work out....damn indecision and time off and money sh*t.....I bet Paris Hilton doesn't worry about this crap Eh.....LOL! Have fun Roosters! Represent!
This sounds like a lot of fun. Do we get to all camp in the same area? How does VIP work relative to GA? I guess they don't force you to park somewhere you don't wanna be?
On-site RV rental? Has anyone rented the RV's available at Roo? This may be our last "Family Vacation" as kids are 18 and 20. Would like to make the most of it. Is it worth the money?
We have never even camped before, so not really interested in tents.
This is based on the Amish tradition of Rumspringhe. The Amish kids leave at 16 to go explore and raise hell for a year. We had the great idea of wearing Amish-styled clothing and caravaning to a show together - maybe with orange triangles?

The rule are basically the same, they still put you in your place and we have to caravan in together to make sure we end up camped with one another. We have saved spots in the past, but is can be difficult, I have been one of the people late before, it's not fun trying to get caught-up with everyone. The only thing is that when we have 18 cars are sticking together, it makes it hard on them to stand up to us fussing... I really didn't mean to yell at that guy last year who told us we couldn't turn our cars...
But, we all meet up at the Food Lion at 8am, head out to the Farm by 9, are usually to our spots by 10 am and then all set up and in formation by 12. See xrayspex' pic from earlier. That's all of us hanging out and getting our assigned places in line.
Idio did a wonderful job last year. We all had window placards with our number in line and our place in the formation. It helps the security keep us together and makes it easier on us because sometimes we can be like herding kittens and we definitely need direction. Us? Hard to deal with on the first morning of Bonnaroo? Never!

This was the popular idea at camp last year.
I just modified my post(thanks Wikipedia), when I got done you had posted this.

No worries!
Would you mind adding me and Ron to the list +2 (2 cars).
I get nervous and twitchy everytime I check this thread and don't see us up there.

Thanks, Daniroo! I see why you gots the coco. More for you!
I would be honored and thrilled to hang with the inforoo VIP crowd. And my festie-virignal wife would probably benefit from that sense of a protective community.
My problem is I rarely do the same thing the same way twice. First year, solo. 2nd year, I hooked up with a great tribe. This year it's VIP. So I can't always offer people any sense of expertise. It's nice having ppl who know what's going on.
In that respect, Inforoo is one of the greatest forums I've ever seen.
I am soooo jealous of you guys in VIP! I will have to do this next year. Period. I love all the ideas and all the FUN. And all the inforoosters!!! And even though Im not gonna be there this year, but likely next year - I would like to offer up a theme for next year! As we are Info-ROOSTERs - it could be Farm CockadoodleROO! Okay. I am so cheesy today. Maybe it was all the sunlight...

Also, does anybody remember the camping spots in VIP about 50 yards to our left when staring at the What Stage? It was high enough to see over the wall. Whoever is leading this expedition should see about getting us posted there.
