Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
A new headliner is a "big" announcement anyway you look at it. Let's remember us message board dorks make up a tiny % of the general Bonnaroo audience. I don't think our disappointment correlates to the masses.
But WSP and Les Claypool at Bonnaroo? That's the same old song and dance, again, my friend.
I will probably leave early and go back to Birmingham to catch the Flaming Lips. That's right, our crappy little local music festival has a more exciting/entertaining band closing out than Bonnaroo. Way to go Bonnaroo, you dropped the f'in ball.

eh. compared to normal addition announcements, this IS a big one. just not the big one everyone turned it into.
i guess i'm not really impressed, but i'm not disappointed either. i'm sure all the other adds were already planned, and WSP was a last-minute addition. given their relationship with roo, it makes sense since it's probably hard to add just anyone major this late in the game.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things
I was pretty hyped up, thinking Clapton or Neil Young. But trolling the boards last night brought me back to reality. WSP was all over the place, so I figured that was the answer. Thanks for all you clue hounds. I'm just to dumb to figure those things out!
I voted 'meh", but I think it was "big" enough because they are changing the closing band.
Glad Jack is playing along side my beloved Pearl Jam, I think this is good for all the people who were surprised (and none to pleased) he was closing out the festival.
Les was my dream addition and he popped up so what more could I ask for?
Thrilled about Claypool being added - really happy about that - the rest - meh
It'll be another Sunday night at Bonnaroo where I head back to camp - get some sleep so that we can leave on Monday morning - I have given WSP a chance and found I don;t like them
Oh and soooo NOT happy about the JJ move - just means that his show will be way way crowded by people that just wanna see Pearl Jam and I was looking forward to a nice relaxed kicked back set from Jack

well...CAN'T WAIT TO SEE LES AGAIN!!!! tryin to be somewhat positive.
but this does give me an opportunity to leave earlier sunday. i can't believe they would use the word 'BIG' for wsp. Les and wsp have become a fixture at the roo and this does not surprise anyone. Its more like, hey guys, guess who's back.......................................again!
I'm really trying my hardest to stay positive about this. I thought the lineup was great before, but its really hard to stay positive with all the hype that led up to this.
I was fine with the lineup before, even when the Allman Brothers cancelled. And while this was being labeled as a "big & exciting" announcement, Coachella adds Prince, and we get....Widespread Panic for the umpteenth time.
I was more excited about the last 2 rounds of artist additions than this one. I won't be seeing any of these artists that were just added.
But I'm still going to have a great time dadgummit! I'll be watching WSP from my campsite in VIP.

what killed the momentum was finding out WSP was headlining early. If itwouldnt have been a spoiler we would have been happier. Dang you detective. No hard feelings though, you still get karma for keeping us ahed of the game.

well, after a night to sleep and think over everything, these are my thoughts...
should they have called it a "big announcement"...no. will i see any of the people added...probably not, except for claypool unless he conflicts with someone else.
however, the allman bros. were one of about 25 bands that i want to see. so now i'm down to 24...i'd say that's not too shabby. i'm not really excited about the JJ move, but i'll live.
as someone stated earlier...WE made it into the likes of clapton, young, and LZ. not to mention when the lineup first came out, everyone was whining and complaining about how bonnaroo has "left its roots and loyalists in the dust". well...here you go...WSP and claypool are back.
regardless, i have more bands than i'll ever be able to see, and with a party like bonnaroo, i can't imagine being disappointed.

I want to know why their "Big" announcement took time away from the best headliner they have (Pearl Jam)??? Who wants to see Jack Johnson take set time away from PJ??? JJ starting at sunset (about 8pm???) plays for even 1.5 hours means that PJ doesnt get to be on the main stage til 10pm??? That only leave PJ with a 2 hour set Talk about WEAK SAUCE, I was hoping for an EPIC 3-3.5 hour PJ show.
They didn't say exactly what time he will start, or what time PJ begins, or what time PJ ends. I doubt they will take time away from PJ, just maybe the 2 sets bleed together. I betcha eddie comes out for JJ, which will be really cool, then PJ comes out with JJ and they do something. That won't be bad at all.

Honestly though, I don't want muc h of JJ with PJ, if Eddie comes out with JJ that's cool, but once the band comes on, I want to see PJ rock, not mellow it out with JJ.

I got the phone call while I was stumbling out of a panic show last night and let out a booming MUAHAHAHAHAAAA!! WSP is hitting their post-Houser peak right now. I'm also glad to see that Les is back.

I just don't understand how people can be that letdown. Superfly even said not to expect any more really big names so people shouldn't of had their hopes up huge. Bonnaroo is a festival that based on diverse music but its roots belong to jam bands. When I heard that JJ had the closing slot this year I was pretty upset because that spot belongs to bands like Phil Lesh, The Allmans, or WSP. I for one will be grooving my ass off Sunday night for Panic. Not to mention they added arguably the best bass player around. Just Les Claypool is big enough for me and the fact they added WSP onto what was already a stellar lineup makes it even sweeter.
I agree this isn't a big anouncement. I like less alot. WSP is better than Metallica. (my opinion)
What you gotta realize is that Bonnaroo has your money because some of you will still buy tickets and then complain and go for the hell of it.
If you don't like the line up or the bands announced don't go.
My girlfriend and I are talking like selling our ticket baised on a few things
1. The line- up is ok at best in our minds. (our opinion) 2. We hate Metalica 3. Too many ups and downs like Big additions and ok bands at best. 4. Prises are high this year. (gas, tickets, inflation) 5. also all the negative hype this year going into bonnaroo just may be a buzz kill . We will meet with complainers, drunk metallica people they will want to fight.
So my point really is, It's sad to see a good thing die. If you don't like the bands that are playing don't spend the money to go. Remember... Be nice to each other on this board. It's sad to see all the negative comments.
I don't post too much but I have been going to this board for a few years. This year this board is way more negative then other years. That's kinda sad to me.
I feel like it's worded strong enough, and makes the right points. I mean, there are spies on this board... but there is a more official way of letting superfly know how we feel.
Please go sign it. I didn't start it or anything, but it seems smart.
Switching up who's headlining is a big announcement. Adding new additions on top of that makes it a BIG announcement. Doesn't matter what they actually said, they just made a, wait for it, big change in the makeup of this year.
So it all depends on what your definition of "is" is, you know?

Personally, I cant stand WSP. I know it's other peoples favorite and I definitely respect that, but big to me would not be this. However, I could care less, I'm already SO satisfied w/ the line up that it won't make or break my roo.

In keeping with recent Superfly tradition, I would like to share a personal "big announcement":
I am pleased to announce that I will be sitting in front of an office desk on the third floor for the next 5 hours and the sun will be making an exciting appearence in the sky!
Come on, who's thrilled?! That's big! Big, I tell you!

Not gonna lie...I had made my peace w/ the initial line-up and was REALLY starting to get excited about 'Roo this year. But now all this ridiculous anticipation, only to be let down again? It's pretty much killed that momentum for now...blah.
I am in the same boat. I was stoked, starting to soak int he line up, then my emotions were even lifted higher when I was told that a "BIG" announcement would be on Thursday!
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
