I know this thread is to tell about shows we’ve seen, but I’m going to ask instead
Anyone seen Chemical Brothers recently? They’re coming in November and it’s pretty spendy. I’m honestly not crazy familiar with them, but I also have an interest in going. I need someone to convince one way or another if someone who only knows like 3 songs will enjoy the show.

I was really looking forward to seeing massive attack for first time because they were a bucket list act for me but had no idea they were going to bring it like they did. I avoided spoilers going so won't include them here either but thete was more live instrumentstion than i expected, it all sounded great, and was incredibly relevant. Not sure why they don't get out and do this more often. I certainly am hoping this won't prove to be my one and only opportunity!

There were a bunch here who saw them in Brooklyn, though Katy Mae is the only one I remember off the top of my head.

Do it, the production is insane. You'll be dancing the whole way through.

Saw Whitney last night. Great chill show. Julien is a funny guy and also very blunt, told us right away they were going to play for an hour and ten minutes. Then when his mic fell over and they had to restart "No Matter Where We Go", he said "ok hour and fifteen minutes"

Queens, and shit was great. You'll hear the few songs everyone should recognize and then everything else is just a party.

I traveled to London last September and they announced dates for while I was there, so it was a must see.
I'm not the biggest Chem Bros fan. Always preferred Daft Punk. I was completely sober and they blew me away. They played every song I could want to hear (other than the Salmon Dance, lol). They played over 2 hours. It was a masterfully put together dance party.
Igor stage production was beautiful. Also Dominic Fike is about to blow up. Show was packed overcapacity and he has a radio friendly sound yet still unique and captivating.

Saw our greatest American band, The National, a few times last week, each with varying levels of Matt Berninger inebriation. The second night in Denver was definitely the best, with some deep cuts (Peggy-O, All the Wine, and I didn't know how much I missed Sea of Love until it stopped being a regular), and the band was having a lot of fun. Even Aaron was in a goofy mood. The previous night, Matt was a little too drunk to the point where it affected his voice, and Scott was having bass issues all night.
Didn't do an August recap in here, but saw some quality shows from Better Oblivion Community Center and Carly Rae Jepsen. Surprisingly, the Carly Rae crowd was way older than the BOCC crowd, which felt like I stepped into a freshman dorm hall.
Did my Pasadena Daydream recap in its respective thread, but The Cure, Deftones, and Chelsea Wolfe all brought it. Pixies were decent but not stellar.

Best show I’ve seen this year, and I’ve seen plenty

Saw Tamino in Brooklyn a couple days ago and was completely blown away by the sound of his voice live. I went into it not knowing what to expect since he's a pretty new performer and left feeling like I'd witnessed something miraculous. Anybody who's a fan of Thom Yorke/Jeff Buckley/Fink/James Blake should definitely try to catch his tour if they have a chance.

Mdou Moctar. His show at the Earl was soooo good. I went in with high expectations, and he absolutely exceeded them. I was mesmerized. Highly recommend catching his show if you can. Take ear plugs.

Im kinda proud of him for pulling through on that debut album of his. (Because they played Habibi on the radio so much that I just couldnt stand hearing that track anymore though live it's sooo incredible) He's very known here and its cool that the world gets to know him aswell.

That does sound good then! Saw them once in 2009 after that album was released and was really disappointed. If they get by here again on the farewell tour I may give it one more shot.

I had never seen them. We took my parents who are big fans. I was surprised by how good they were.
Saw Tropical Fuck Storm and Mannequin Pussy this past weekend and both fucking ruled. The latter was insanely tight and the former was unbridled passion straddling the line of complete chaos. I think both their tours are nearing an end but don't miss them if they play near you in the future

I can just imagine telling the folks at work the names of the acts I was gong to see. They all ready think I’m crazy.
I saw Mannequin P once. They were okay, but I didn't find them anything to write home about. Sort of reminded me of the Breeders a little.
When was it? I saw them open for Ought back in 14/15 and thought the same, but they've massively leveled up since then. Their latest album Patience is one of this year's best

I want to say Voodoo 2017?
Let me look back up and see what I had to say. I may be confusing them with Thunderp***y which I saw last year.
Next stop was back to the altar for Ron Gallo. Ron has a 3 piece punk/garage band. I liked that set. We went over to where Mannequin Pussy was playing and watched about 4 songs from them which was decent.
Yeah, I guess I was confusing the two (not that I didn't like both).
