Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I think there's a lot of new, good talent at 'Roo this year. I've sampled a lot of it, but haven't found that many acts where I think I'd enjoy a full set. For lack of a better term, a lot of the mid-tiers seem pretty 'green' still. But hey, that's one man's opinion.
Not sure how many of the mid tier acts qualify as green. If you qualify mid tier as roughly Talib Kweli to Ladytron, the only act that might really qualify would be Lupe Fiasco. Every other act's been around at least about a decade or features musicians that aren't exactly new to live performance.
Being unfamiliar with an act and calling them green or unexperienced are two completely different things.
OK, I will break it down for everyone. Pearl Jam < Dave Matthews Band Metallica > 311 Jack Johnson > John Mayer Kayne West > Snoop Dogg (I don't know rap though) Phil Lesh and Friends > Phil Lesh and Friends My Morning Jack > Primus The Raconteurs < Modest Mouse
I could go on, but Bonnaroo has the better lineup. IMHO
This is a shame, Primus blows MMJ out of the water, and although I'm no 311 fan, I don't see how they are comparible to Metallica?
On the note of this thread, I will most definetly be attending The Rothbury. I'm from Michigan, the line-up is much more to my liking, after expanding my festival experience to 10KLF last year I think I may be done with Roo (unless of course they do something to really impress me).
Also it is refreshing to have a festival dedicated to a higher purpose. In no way can any event of this size can be totally green but it is good to know that the three R's will be emphasized throughout the festival. Even the vendors will be distributing with biodegradable utensils and plates. Not to mention theme of the future in renewable energy will discussed but the whole event is dedicated to great cause and good

I've decided to do bonnaroo instead of AllGood. Bonnaroo has: Pearl Jam, Chris rock, DSO--probably late night, BB king, raconteurs, superjam, rilo kiley, not to mention the amazing singer song writers including mason jenning and everyone's fave punching bag the kick ass jack johnson. Screw it, I'm hitting the 'Roo and the 'Roth.
it's def rothbury for me this year for several reasons:
1. i will have just gotten back from deployment, so imho i deserve to treat myself a little, so i can afford to make it up to michigan (from florida) if i want to (plus, there's a lot to do when returning to america after nearly a year overseas) 2. bonnaroo's lineup looks interesting, but rothbury's lineup, as has been said many times, is insane 3. my crew from memphis is skippin roo and making plans for chicago & rothbury 4. i've never been to michigan before, but i can't help but assume all the way up north right there next to lake michigan MUST have better summer weather than my beloved tennessee 5. my boss is letting me swing with leave for that time period
so there are my top reasons for my choice...oh, and since i haven't posted on here in a couple months...

I wish we could do both this year but I have to be away on business during all of Bonnaroo, so we have decided to do Rothbury instead this year.
If I had to choose between them, I think I would choose Rothbury just based on lineup alone. Gogol Bordello and Primus are huge draws for me. I do wish I could do both though. =( Oh well! Rothbury is gonna ROCK!

I choose Rothbury, but dont get me wrong i'd love to do Roth, Bonnaroo, and Allgood. but i just dont see it happening. Especially since Echo Project in October is a must.
