my poor gf just cannot catch a break. baby daddy was already being an asshole about taking the kid tomorrow (daycare is closed and he was told two weeks ago that he would need to take him and said it wouldn't be an issue. it became an issue and just totally pissed her off). last night after her i and the kid had pizza he was just sitting on her while she was laying down and we're watching tv. he just starts to throw the pizza up out of nowhere. he was fine leading up to and after so just think the pizza sat right. well daycare lady texted her saying two kids had went home and threw up. naturally she told her that jace had thrown up his pizza dinner too. well turns out you can't go to daycare for 24 hours after vomitting. now she had to take today off to stay home and not get paid again. she's still in her 60 day trial period, luckily they really like her and don't think there will be any repercussions from the incident. she already had to miss a day last week, and she works 9 hour days mon-thurs so she is missing out on $200 on her next check which really hurts. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

That sucks, but is unfortunately the price of having kids. Hopefully it was just the pizza and not a relapse. Good luck on the baby daddy shit too. Takes a strong/brave man to enter a relationship with a child that young and ex drama. Hopefully, it gets better.

thank you! and yea i get 22 pto days a year, which i usually waste on festivals and hangovers, next year that will be different. i'm out for this year so can't really do much. i already took a day the other week when i didn't have one as my boss understands my situation. def hoping it was just the pizza. yea she's just sick of baby daddy shit and i'm ready to be the kids "real" dad. it's def making me a stronger more patient person overall

I have no idea what happened. I just looked down a minute ago and the bottom of my phone screen is shattered.the phone itself seems to be working fine, but it seems like it will just fall apart. I haven't had insurance on a phone in over five years and I'm not even close to being eligible for an upgrade. I think I'm going to give some serious thought to going back to a dumb phone.
Yesterday my eldest son went to take a shower and when he got out I noticed bruises down his arm, stomach, and hip. They were all on one side of his body. So I was like, "What the hell happened?" He said that the neighbor, the child he plays with 90% of the time, has told them that to remain in their club house, he has to fight. I asked he wanted to fight and he said, "No, but I want to stay in the fort." I asked if there was other ways to stay and he said that he could clean up his "room" in the fort, instead.
Now this child, our next door neighbor, does not come from a stable home. His mom is raising 3 kids all alone, she works full time, and this son has been kicked out of school and is now homeschooled (but not really). I feel for this kid. You can hear his mother scream at him from inside her house. He has issues but I haven't seen many problems out of him. There have been a few times when they have been playing rough outside and if it gets too intense I'll tell them to knock it off. I've heard him tell the boys sexual myths, but my kids correct him and we talk about it. So, where to go from here. I'd like to pull him aside and tell him that if he hits one of my children again, they will no longer be allowed to play with him. That might cause him to resort to psychological bullying or teasing. I realize I need to focus on opening their social circle up so they have more options. At the same time this kid is right next door and he is both of their "best friend"s. Input?
My father's advice would be for me to beat the shit out of the kid so bad that he never messes with me again.
My mother would just stop letting me spend time with the kid.
When I was a little kid there was a boy down the street that I spent a lot of time with. He was a pretty violent kid, as was his big brother. Idk why, because I recall both his parents being pretty normal and nice. The boy was definitely unstable though, and started to become very violent after two difficult experiences (in 6th grade our good friend passed away, and shortly afterwards his parents got divorced). Eventually my mom stopped letting me hang out with him. It was a good call, since he was ultimately removed from school following an incident where he tried to stab his mother with a kitchen knife. Not sure if he ended up just being homeschooled or what actually happened to him, but I'm glad my mom prevented me from spending time with him.
On the other hand, when I got into high school, I had multiple incidents with a certain group of kids my freshman year. They tried to bully me, making fun of me for being Jewish or for the clothes I wore. So I fought a few of them throughout my freshman year and eventually they decided to leave me alone.
I'm not sure if this helps, but it's hard to give advice not knowing the situation. But from my own experience as a kid, I'd say as long as you don't think the neighbor is some sort of psychopath, I'd let your boy learn to handle things on his own.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
Man, I grew up on STP, so sad to hear about this. Their albums were some of the first I ever owned. Saw them live back when I was still a kid, and then again with Scott a few years ago at BSMF. RIP Scott.

Same. I didn't get to see them in their prime, but I did have a chance to see them about 5-6 years ago. Scott still kicked ass. He's still the bar I measure most frontmen to of any band. This is going to weigh on me.

They were probably my favorite band from 12-14. I never did get to see them live. They cancelled so many tours and Scott was in such bad shape, in and out of the band once I started going to shows. I did see him with Velvet Revolver and that was great. This was definitely not a surprise, I'm more surprised that he made it this long. So tearing up this morning when I read it was not expected. I guess you never forget your favorite bands, no matter how long ago it was.

It's got me really tore up today. I haven't been following his career lately, but STP was an essential part of my teenage years. 48 just seems so very young. I wish I could have seen him perform. Just once.

Saw them in 2009. Was a really great show. Scott was on fire, being his usual self. This pair of women, probably just a little older than I was (I was 16, they were maybe 19-21) kept yelling to Weiland about how sexy he was and shouted out explicit things about what they wanted to do to him, in great detail. Such good music now won't have it's true voice now.
STP should break up out of respect. Chester Bennington sucks anyway, TBH.
My grr about it is that my crazy boss is apparently obsessed with him and STP. Now it's all she's talking about and all we're listening to. I wish I didn't lose my headphones.

I had tickets to his show on the 13th. I am really upset, I was looking forward to that show. I am glad that I got to see them at Voodoo fest in like 1998 or 1999, can't remember which.
Someone randomly broke my car's windshield last night while it was parked and locked. I think two people got in a fight outside the building I live in and someone just got smacked down on my windshield? Kind of a funny visual, not too happy with the outcome.

Shucks. Insurance?
Hopefully! Won't know until Monday. I'm just glad that if something goofy happened to my car, I wasn't in it when it happened.
Pro tip: Clean blood out of your beard before you go to sleep. It's really hard to get out later. Damn clotting agents.
I got jacked last night. Sucks for them I didn't have anything on me. Sucks for me they were mad about that.
Still got all my teeth, and wounds heal.
I win.
My goodness, that's terrifying. I'm glad you were only roughed up and it didn't escalate into something more serious. I'd share some beard advice but my lawyer told me to stop posting blood-cleaning tips on the internet.

This is a picture of the IATSE crew for The Wiz, an all black casted musical. There are maybe 4 POC on the entire stage crew. And on many of the boards I frequent related to my sound business and production - I could never share how obvious of striking issue this is the industry. I would even probably be told that I'm "race-baiting". I mean this was shot in the NYC metro area - the lack of diversity is systemic and I wish I could be honest with people I'm supposed to have a future comradeship / working relationship with if I want to excel in the industry.
There was an article shared to fb about a new local Syrian refugee family (pregnant mother with 4 children) and I read the comments. I knew better.
Sometimes I like to post ridiculous satirical comments on stuff like that but I could go full blown Jonathan swift cook the children and feed them to homeless veterans and it wouldn't even stand out as the most ridiculous thing said there.

Never, ever read the comments. Especially if it involves an issue that is personal to you. I get physically ill when I see how hateful, cruel, and ignorant people can be.
RIP lil Honda Civic. It's been a fun 16 years. I hope you found me caring and true to you. Sorry I talked about getting a minivan. It's just the room issue with 2 kids and 2 adults and a dog and all the shit you apparently need when having kids.
I'm still getting a minivan though. The GRRRR is we can't really afford a new car right now.
