Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Okay, it's officially highly unlikely (unless Plant does two sets in a day -- unlikely since he didn't even sing during the 02 Arena rehearsals to protect his voice):
Krauss/Plant dates (according to Pollstar and Jambase):
yep, I was told about these dates on another board, though they weren't official.
I, personally, don't think it is in the best interests of Led Zeppelin to play Bonnaroo on sunday night when Robert Plant is on the road the entire weekend doing something else. If Plant isn't gonna focus on it, it's not worth doing. I think he feels the same way, and therefore there is zero chance of it happening.
Sucks, but it's not like we shouldn't have expected this.

Yea, very disappointing news. I think that the announcement of Plant/Krauss dates surrounding all of the Bonnaroo dates kind of screws us out of seeing the real deal.
We'll have to deal with seeing Robert with Alison and wait til the fall or possibly next Bonnaroo to see Zeppelin.
Afterall, Page did say nothing would happen prior to September.
Only hope now is a sit in from Plant on a late night Sat. but for that to happen, he'd have to truck it over from Ashville, NC directly after his and Krauss' show there that evening.
when led zeppellin does a show, I'd assume tickets will be anywhere between 500 to 1000 dollars.
They actually said (I can't find where I read this) that they arent going to be touring for the money, because they don't need it. They are touring to have fun, so i bet more along the lines of Police tickets
now we can hope for plant to bring some awesome guests on for their set, he won't be sitting in with anyone this year

it wont be because they want/need the money IMO it will be because of the fucking scalpers
You know....30 years from now, another generation is going to be acting like this about the Metallica re-union...or the Pearl Jam re-union...or some other band that we take for granted now's re-union....perhaps try living in the moment and not in the past or the future....might be more satisfying.

karma man, that is very true, the more time had gone the less i was even excited about zeppelin, the initial thought was oh so sweet bliss, but i suppose as awesome as it would be, there are probably bigger things going on right now, w/out zeppelin.
for example: my morning jacket. In my opinion, i see them having the potential to be at the same level as Zeppelin in their prime.

i can't agree with this. i will probably be in the back for pearl jam, and depending on the late night act, probably won't even show up for metallica. that's just personal preference on what music i choose to listen to.
loving led zeppelin has nothing to do at all with living in the past. they just happen to be a band that i absolutely love, and will always love. not to mention they're much older than metallica and pearl jam, and won't be around nearly as long. hell, one is already deceased. if i have anything to say about it, my kids will love bands like floyd, zeppelin, the who, jimi, etc just as much as i do, and just as much as my parents did before me. good music transcends age...it does not stay in the past.
i'm disappointed they won't be there, but not in the sense that it RUINS roo for me. i was set on Roo before the rumor mill blew up. i will love it because i'm at roo, and because there are still at least 25 other bands i would love to see this year.
That's not really my point...it's fine to love what ever band you want....but spending a lot of time thinking about what was, and what could be next year just seems silly when there's so much going on this year.
I'm not thinking about some girl I dated ten years ago, I'm not thinking about who I'd like to be dating next June....I'm thinking...okay, who's gonna be at the bar tonight?
(I know what thread you hang out in...I thought this was a good analogy )

haha...thanks
but in retort to your post...i'm guessing you're not still in love with the girl you dated 10 years ago, nor could you be in love with the girl you MIGHT be dating next June.
my point is that this thread is no different than any other thread wanting a band to be a Roo. its not about how old they are, or whether or not we'll still enjoy Roo just the way it turns out to be. we're just speculating...just like every other thread on a band...because we do love Led Zeppelin.
I'm feeling the whole "living in the now" things, though I am still dissapointed I won't get a chance to see Jimmy...that would have been an experience. However, I'm convinced there are plenty of bands still ready to blow our minds, namely, SIGUR ROS. I really think people will still be talking about their show years and years from now.
Here's something to think about: Zep isn't in their prime at the moment. It's just the cold, hard truth. They wouldn't have the energy they had 30 years back. Nothing against the band, they're just going on 60 now. However, think about bands like MMJ, Sigur, or anyone else reaching their prime. People will be saying years from now "I wish I was at the 2008 ____ show".
I dunno...maybe I'm just trying to cover the scars Zep gave me by opting out of playing.

Zep could play on thurs.. night.. haha.. seriously though.. i'm pretty disappointed.. thanks again ap for getting my hopes up.. back to reality I suppose.
Couldn't they close out the festival on Sunday night?
Theoretically, but I can't imagine that they'll do it without some serious practicing and I can't see how they can get decent practice in with Plant on tour in the days preceding the festival. Plant didn't even sing during rehearsals for the 02 show to protect his voice so I doubt he'd perform four sets in three days in the middle of a tour. (Then again, the fact that he didn't sing during rehearsals leaves open the possibility of the rest of the band rehearsing without him if he was willing to perform that much.)
In the end, though, it is highly unlikely. Superfly has already said that they wouldn't be performing. Page said that they wouldn't be touring until September. And now the Plant/Krauss tour schedule. I would not be too optimistic.

I'm pretty confident that it's a typo and should read "Lez Zeppelin" if for no other reason than it's billed after Dead cover band Dark Star Orchestra. Certainly, anything touting Led Zeppelin at Bonnaroo is tempting to believe but I think that this is just some bad editing.
