^^^ Yes, for sure it was... but now there's the movie, the box set, the book, whatever else... so of course they HAVE TO finally tour again for the finally final tour, one final time... duh
Cher's final tour lasted like 10 yesrs or something
They are not playing Coachella according to their manager (Oh, and they will be releasing their new album via the internet like Radiohead) so maybe they will choose Bonnaroo to be their first US show.
I just dont see the foo fighters being headliner calibur for bonnaroo, dont get me wrong I really like them especially the first three albums but i dont see them as a big enough act.

Bowie, Led Zep and NIN sounds amazing to me! i could see trent reznor and NIN LATE NITE on the which stage after zeppelin plays on saturday. bowie is friday nite of course. ..that leaves a jam band for sunday nite closing.. how about .moe? or the allmans?

Id say there is no chance of My Bloody Valentine at Roo. Coachella id say will be a definite however.
I really think Pearl Jam and Led Zeppelin are going to be the headliners this year. Everyday more evidence points to Zeppelin. I am really afraid of what this might do to tickets. Prolly just paranoid.

My friend deals with booking shows for the Stanford University network (his school). He says that for a late spring show he has several options, and sent me the list he has to choose from. Do you think any of these bands could be a possibility at roo since late spring and roo are pretty close...

There's a company, Big Hassle, that takes care of the publicity end of Bonnaroo. Now if you take a look at bands they represent, it may just floor you how many of those groups played Bonnaroo last year. I would keep an eye on that lineup of acts they represent to see if it there are any new additions. It might clue you in on who will be playing Bonnaroo next year...

radiohead has been confirmed for 2 festivals in germany (southside and hurricane). they are from june 20-22, so hopefully bonnaroo will be their last stop in the states

Not to start up any ruckus, but Foo Fighters just sold out 2 shows at Wembly Stadium for June 2008. Wembly seats 90,000, making it the second largest stadium in Europe. That's makes them the largest non-festival headlining event in Wembly history (according to Wikipedia, at least).

And further speaking of Ruckus....I will always hold out hope for the band that played the band Ruckus in the movie Elizabethtown...namely My Morning Jacket.

I don't think headlining would pose a problem.
Yeah they are definitley a big draw, and like I said Im a fan but I dont know if they are on par wth the usual headliners, but id be happy to have them there ,they put on a hell of a show. I met Dave Grohl once in 2000 before their show at JMU and he was a super nice guy and gave us a Luray(my home town) shout out during the show.

we're going to see them in a month or two. we just got tickets in Boston and they didnt sell out quickly.. we got floor the day tickets went on sale - and that was after the fan presale, radio presale, and event venue presale. i dunno, maybe they are more popular in the uk?
im looking forward to it, although i have no idea what they will have for a stage show...
I know he did open up for DMB on some tour stops a few years back... so maybe Superfly thinks there's some crossover audience. From what I heard about his show was that it was pretty much what you'd expect from a mainstream country show. Of course, that's what people said about Dierks Bentley, but he changed his show up some for Bonnaroo.
I got roped into going to see Pat Green with some friends of mine at the House of Blues about a two years ago. I had no idea who he was, but they paid for my ticket, so I was simply going for a good time, but a good time was not had by me. That is just not my cup if tea. Country simply does not do it for me. I did a lot of hanging around by the bar. =)
OHHHH and btw, I reallllllllllllllllllllllly hope that Foo Fighters is not there in any shape or form. Grohl's voice really rubs my the wrong way.

"I just got fragged by a non-working speak." 5 Roo's and counting
No rumors here just a couple of thoughts. With all of the new festivals; Vineland, Echo, etc. and growing festivals; Voodoo and Langerado, Bonnaroo is likely seeing the need to step up their game. This might give a greater motivation for getting a band of the stature of Led Zeppelin.
In order to afford such a high dollar band and keep tickets affordable they might up the attendance. Maybe up to 90,000 like they tried in 2005.
