no he is not playing with the melody makers. he actually broke away from them a few years back to persue more of a solo career. stephen, who was in the melody makers, just put out a new album and is touring with jr gong this summer.
I got Stephens and Ziggys new albums both. I really like Stephens, he sounds alot like his dad, but I not to high on Ziggys. Stephens is definitely a reggae album all the way.
Ziggys is more popish/island feeling music.

i saw stephen and damian in a tiny club here in indiana and it was ridiculous. show was great but yea the ziggy solo stuff ive heard is very pop sounding, hopefully he brings the reggae this year
the nevilles are playing with ziggy here in va a week or two before roo. i wonder if they're on tour together and if so, maybe they might be a later addition to roo. we can always use some nola funk in the house!!
and yes, although ziggy's been taking a new approach with his (poppy)sound, his shows are still kick ass. i believe on his last album he wrote and played a lot of the instruments on most if not all the songs. with his live show last summer, he still brought his full band with him complete with the rasta flag waver and skanked it like it was no one's business. check it out if you are a fan and if you don't like it, move on....
good to hear his show is good, cuz as already stated, the album stuff isn't roots enough for me. i'm definately lookin forward to his show now after hearing the positive feedback here.

I saw him a few months ago. The music was alright, a bit too pop, but he had so much energy. He kept on dancing and singing great the entire show. I got a lot of respect for artists like that.
saw that damian stephen and the rest of the marley family has dates from late may open until late in the summer. any chance we will get the whole family with ziggy at roo?

Stephen & Damian would be a great addition.
They need some reggae Ziggy is pop he did a song with the Muppet's. He does have some good tunes from Dragonfly but will probably play off love is my religion.
Stephens new album is an instant classic, I would love to hear them jam it out at Bonnaroo.
If the whole Marley family comes, and the Melody Makers play with him, I might have a heart attack on the spot. Ziggy has been one of my favorites for years, and finally I'll have the chance to see him perform. The Marleys always have a ton of eyes on them at all times, so a surprise could def be a possibility... However, in the interest of the festival, there could be more attendees if the "surprise" is confirmed. Either way... I'll be there, right up in front.
