Does this mean that there's a possibility that The Flaming Lips might open for The Police. Am crazy for thinking that they could play the What Stage. Oh my god to say that I saw The Flaming Lips and then The Police back to back on the same stage would be almost as good as saying I saw James Brown open for The Dead on the same stage!!!!!

^^ They are on different days.
I wish they'd announce what day Gogol Bordello is playing. That's the only person I'm waiting on finding out a day for. Also, I wish we knew what the hell the late night shows are, all of them, that is. I think the Lips will be since they really need to divide that crowd after the Police. I think Superjam will go back to Sunday cause why put two seriously bad ass jam bands against one another, Superjam Vs. Govt Mule, just doesnt make sense to me, but Sasha, Digweed, etc Vs. Govt Mule Vs. the Flaming Lips, certainly would divide your crowd, plus for some reason I guess I get the feeling that the preheadlining Saturday slot will shape up like this:
Ben Harper and Innocent Criminals Vs. Hold Steady Vs. Keller Williams Vs. Ween Vs. Galatatic
I also think Ziggy Marley and Damien Rice will both preheadline with one on Friday and the other one Sunday, but we'll see. Another thing supporting my Flaming Lips theory is wouldn't they just have announced the date on their website and Myspace once that press release came out, if they weren't Late Night. Late Night usually does deserve a special announcement on a band's website, just my two cents though.

I agree with your point about Superjam, it doesn't seem likely that they would put it up against Gov't Mule (unless we maybe get a 2 hour Superjam, then 2 hour Gov't Mule in the same tent [or vice versa])? I also have worries about Harper conflicting with Keller, hopefully Keller will be in a tent mid-day, and will give me just enough time to go see Harper on the main stage before the Police.
However, I don't think Damien Rice will be a pre-headliner. Assuming that the White Stripes are on Sunday (and not the magical late night Saturday Which stage show that I've been praying for), they would have to be the pre headliners.

This may just be me thinking way too much about things, but here is how I see it:
Friday
Main Stage Preheadliner-Artist Addition-There is no band big enough to preheadline, except maybe String Cheese, and they are most likely late night.
Late Night #1-SCI (2+ Hours)-->STS9 (2+ Hours) Late Night #2-The Roots (Need a hip-hop late night) Late Night #3-Manu Chao or some Indie thing that still needs to be added (Volta!!)
Saturday
Main Stage 3:00 Show-Ben Harper, he has a big enough name to be main stage, and I don't see them bumping the Lips to second stage. Plus this would fit in my dream world of the Lips not conflicting with anything. Most likely though he will be against the Lips.
Main Stage Preheadliner-Flaming Lips (this would give them the most exposure, as alot of people would be getting a good spot for The Police. Sorry to those of you set on the fact that they will be late night.)
Late Night #1-Gov't Mule (this is essentially this years Superjam!!!) Late Night #2-Galactic (Hip-hop enough to spread the crowd) Late Night #3-Sasha, Digweed, and other DJs till who knows when.
Sunday
I could honestly see the main stage going like this:
Wolfmother Wilco White Stripes Widespread Panic
There is no way in hell they would put the White Stripes against Wilco, so this makes most sense. Also, with two huge bands like that in a row on the main stage, it lends a little hope to my Harper-->Lips combo on Saturday.
As far as the Superjam goes, it is definately out for Saturday night, and I think SCI-->STS9 is also too similar, so I agree it goes back to the tent on Sunday.

that's a nice Sunday Mainstage greecianlover, it would make more sense to me for Wilco to be preheadliner, but as long as i got to see everybody, i would be happy.

I like the way you're thinking, but if I may critique:
a) I don't think SCI is likely for late night, they will draw too big of a crowd for a tent, and they've played the stage in years past. Manu Chao is also too big for a tent, he headlined one of the stages at Lolla last year (FLips opened for him even).
b) In '03 Harper and FLips were both on the bill, I'm not sure exactly how the scheduling went (perhaps someone else can fill us in), but I believe Harper was the pre-headliner.
c) I don't think Wolfmother is big enough for the main stage, but that might just be me.
Other than that I like what you're saying, I too highly doubt a late night FLips show, and Wilco vs. White Stripes would make a lot of people want to kill themselves

a) SCI is honestly not that big. If Umphrey's can play a tent, so can SCI. They may be a little bigger because this is their last year, but they are definately not too big for a tent. I'm pretty sure someone posted here as well, saying that they spoke with so and so connected to SCI and said they were late night in like a two hour 2+ Hour slot, which led me to pair them with STS9.
As far as Manu Chao goes, you are probably right. So i guess he could be the preheadliner?
b) Harper was preheadliner (Friday before Neil Young), but that was because the Lips were late night (Saturday in a tent) that year. That tent was f#ck#ng packed and spilling out the sides too.
c) I think that Wolfmother is not a huge band, but a pretty big name still the same. Not a huge name, which is why I put them first on the main stage. Plus it gives us a day of W's on the main stage ;D
Regardless of all this, I think we can agree Friday is in some desperate need of some bigger names compared to the other two days.

I love it!!!!! This would be perfect. I've got my fingers crossed on the Flaming Lips bieng the opener for The Police. That would just make my head explode Saturday!!!!! And as far as SCI who knows where they'll be but I kind of feel like they'll be the opener for Tool on Friday. There both extremely psychadelic bands and since the Cheese is breaking up they may try to throw them on the What Stage just so they can always say they played that stage. Plus it would help thin out the crowds a little right before Tool because you know everyone and there Mom is gonna be at that show.

Also, I don't think anyone has said anything (at least I couldnt find anything in a search) but it looks like Angel and the Love Mongers are going to be added to the lineup.

Daytime in a tent? No, they would play a stage.
But late night in a tent? You bet your ass. They are in no way bigger than MMJ, the Superjam last year, or The Flaming Lips, and they all played a tent late night.
If Mule's extravaganza is in a tent, so is SCI. In no way am I a SCI hater either. I like the band, but they simply aren't as big as anything that has played the second stage late night before.

They already have played the main stage at the original Bonnaroo. In fact they played it twice that year (before Panic on Friday and Saturday), and a late night as A Keller Williams Incident.

honestly wolfmother may be awesome, but they are NOT a main stage band. they have one cd out and are fairly new. they could def play second tstage but i see them in the big tent (remember even sonic youth was put in the big tent last year)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I can't stand Wolfmother, but they are the flavor of the week, and you know how that kinda stuff goes. Right now, I figure they're more than big enough to be on the main stage.
I stand corrected greecianlover. Sorry, that was the only year I didn't go. Still though, I think they would fit in well right before Tool, even if it's only on the Which Stage.

Looks like the Lips will MOST LIKELY be late night. I emailed the contact site and their manager? emailed me back saying:

or do we think the DJs will have their own tent? I don't see the Lips playing longer than an hour and a half to two hours given that they usually have pretty short set times, and the Police won't breach 11:30 at the latest so the Lips can start good and early.
