CSN&Y was a kickass show. Alot of Bush bashing, but you had to know this after Neil's last album. They put on a 2 set show. A bunch of new stuff with alot of classics, including alot of solo Neil stuff as well (Rocking in the Free World).
On a side note I hope there is'nt a (good)headliner thursday as that was my time last year to just roam around aimlessly without having to say oh, we need to go see this band every 45 minutes.
EDIT: Though I absolutely HAD to see DeVothKa last year on thursday.

SCI as a headliner? You guys are getting a little delusional regarding their popularity.
This is assuming its their last show, i dont think anyone really thinks they could headline if it wasnt, but i wouldnt mind it. I much rather they headline then widespread.
id also take sci over wsp. well definitely over 2 nights of wsp. with the types of shows they have been putting on lately sci would fit well. they are mixing it up alot. blugrass, rock, crazy jam/psychadelic sets. i would love to see them headline roo. but i kinda got the feeling that there were some hard feelings between sci and superfly. i doubt their last sow will be at roo. more likely to be at 10klf if they do a final how at a festival ata ll. maybe gotv. that would be sweet.
Why do you think there are hard feelings? They did just play Vegoose, a Superfly festival.
Anyways, I don't think SCI will finish as a band at a festival. I think it's more likely they'll close out with a run at Red Rocks. It's a beautiful venue in their home state, and they've already said they are going to do another run there before Billy leaves. I still think playing a late night spot is best, just so long as they aren't against MMJ or something.

bonnoroo leaves me pretty confident that there will be some suprizes. at least that's what i'm hoping. I'm talking about the extreme improbability of One Man...... One Word....... .......... ....... ..... Bowie. why must i torture myself, idunno

Even if it's their last show there's no way. They're just not that well known outside of the jam community.

Yeah, but neither is Widespread Panic and Superfly has embraced them pretty thoroughly.
My guess is The Who/Pearl Jam/Dave Matthews Band. Not my dream line up but that's where my gut is leaning today.

I agree, i think you underestimate sci's popularity in the jam band community, and it seems superfly is giving atleast one night to a jam band. Also, as i said before, throw k-dub in there and it adds to the rarity of the show. I think widespread two nights is definatly more unbelievable then one night of sci. Now i dont think theyd be a huge anouncment, and no one would be dissapointed if they played a non-headlining spot, but i think they're definatly big enough to. It all just depends on who superfly can fit into the budget. I personally rather see an sci show with a ton of guests then a show that you can see on tour.

If Bowie was announced, I would have an orgasm that would last from now until the night of his show. Goddamn, that would be amazing.

I can drive down to my campus and I'm bound to see a few WP stickers on some trust fund kids' SUVs. You can ask anyone in their 20's and they're bound to at least recognize the name. Not the case with SCI.
Bob Seger i dont think could headline, i like him in a pre-headliner spot though, id definatly check him out. I do think pearl jam is likely, iv been watchin some of their live clips, and they can really jam. Also, if it really were SCI's last show, and you make it a Keller Williams Incident, i think you could give that a headliner spot. So my dream, and pretty possible idea is.
1st - Clapton or Cream (I think this will be the big suprise this year) 2nd- Pearl Jam 3rd- Keller Williams Incident
U2 may also be a big suprise, and although i'm not a huge fan, it sounds like they put on very good live shows.
So I just saw U2 with Pearl Jam in Hawaii.
FANTASTIC!!!!
I've seen U2 a few times as a result of my girlfriend - they are always very good. As far as Pearl Jam - holy shit, they were just awesome. Seeing them play Bonnaroo would be bad-ass.
Also, for some reason people are saying Prince - and for those in doubt, his live shows are awesome. he brings up an entire horn section, does some acoustic stuff, lots of confetti its a good time.
I would hope MMJ gets to headline - they blew me away last year and I'd never heard thier music before. From what I've heard so far, thier live sets are so, so, so much better than the records.

Agreed! Their live show is alot better. And I think their records are amazing.

so i was in best buy the other day and glanced by the jack johnson section and saw some new cds, one of them had eddie vedder on it, along with jack johnson, alo, matt costa, i think ben harper, are those the guys to welcome pearl jam into the world of bonnaroo?
Vedder was on the soundtrack to one of Jack's/Malloy Bro's surf movies (which came out a long time ago, but the soundtrack is only just now being released). Eddie's a big surfer, so it was probably only a matter of time before Jack & co. teamed up.
That said, Superfly has been very open that they have courted Pearl Jam for two years now- I think this is the year...
EDIT: Also, Ben Harper and Pearl Jam have been friends for years. See Pearl Jam's Live in NYC DVDs.
Good point on Harper/PJ. I was just watching a video where Harper came in and sang on "daughter." If they're both at the festival then a collaboration is definitely on the cards, hopefully with Harper bringing his incredible slide playing with him.
Also, since we're aware that one of the main promoters is internet active, then hopefully he picks up on the huge Pink Floyd vibes among the Roosters. Along with the GD and Phish, I think they're among the most commonly supported band with people going. However, there really hasn't been much of a PF presence in the past, so maybe, just maybe, they'll acknowledge this and book Waters or Gilmour.

I think Glimour would be the better choice. He only played a handful of shows in the US on his last "tour", so this would give a lot of people the chance to see him. (Plus, I like his voice better than Waters).
Agreed. Gilmour would be a rarer performance, and as I've said before, he was undoubtably the better performer out of the two at Live8. His vocals were very good and his guitar playing was fantastic. That said, Waters is the writer of so many amazing songs, and has been touring more. If I remember right he's also been playing festivals in Europe, so I would guess he's more likely.

Harper guesting with Pearl Jam would kick ass, but I am still holding on to my dream that Bonnaroo will nab PJ and Neil Young both. Members of PJ guesting with Neil or the other way around would be insane.
As far as Floyd goes, I would much rather see Gilmour. Shows sold out so quickly on his last tour, I didn't even have a chance to try and get tickets.
Why not both scenarios? Never going to happen, but could you imagine this:
Friday: Gilmour Saturday: PJ Sunday: CSN&Y
Now that right there would make me cry tears of joy, literally.

Waters is what they need to get, sunday night, i don't think a pink floyd reunion is likely maybe in london or europe but not here in the states, i saw waters at deer creek this past summer, and it blew my mind away, it was about 100 times better than any other show i've ever been to,

Does anyone know what either Waters' or Gilmour's setlists are like? Do either of them play songs that the other wrote or even just had lead vocals on? I've always had more respect for Waters, but I'd probably take seeing either of them live at 'Roo. Just curious as to what they'd play.
Alright, I haven't seen either, but I found a setlist from each:
Roger Waters:
Set 1: Happiest Days of our lives, Another Brick Part 2, Mother, Shine on, Have a cigar, Wish you were here, Set the controls, The gunners dream, Southampton dock, Fletcher memorial home, Perfect sense, Leaving Beirut, Sheep.
Set 2:
Speak To Me, Breathe, On The Run, Time, The Great Gig In The Sky, Money, Us And Them, Any Colour You Like, Brain Damage, Eclipse
Encore:
In the Flesh, Vera Lynn, Bring the Boys back Home, Comfortably Numb.
David Gilmour
Set 1: On An Island (complete album)
Set 2: Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Wot's... Uh The Deal) Wearing The Inside Out (Fat Old Sun) Breathe Time & Breathe reprise (Dominoes) (Coming Back To Life) High Hopes Echoes
