Anyone else notice how well the schedule worked out logistically this year?
Some nice bonus acts on Thursday that most folks might've missed later in the weekend Gordo and O-Head Friday (for the jam-fans) Tom Petty in the warmup headliner slot Radiohead in the sweet spot A motherload of indie-rock acts heavily concentrated on Friday and Saturday A smattering of Jambands all weekend, but heavily mainstaged on Sunday, capping it off with Phil
This served to make departure from the fest really simple. I observed an unprecedented amount of clear-out Sunday before heading in, presumably because many of the Indie-inclined were none too enthused to see Phil and Co. as they had had their fill already. Had the situation been reversed, and Radiohead booked Sunday (or had Panic headlined Saturday in lieu of Radiohead) I think that it would have been much more of a struggle to get out easily.
Just a little kudos to Superfly/AC for applying some of the lessons they have learned from past years AND diversifying our musical intake...
agreed...I thought it worked out great. I had to leave Sunday a.m., which turned out being fine b/c there really weren't that many acts playing that day that interested me.
