Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Consider this. If they do add the Flaming Lips (which is looking more and more likely all the time), I think they would have a hard time not putting them into a late night set. How do they fit in to the mix?
What makes you say it's looking more and more likely? I only ask because adding the Lips would definitely make this a dream Bonnaroo.
Any thought that Bonnaroo might try this for all the kids who don't want to see Radiohead? I say, go right ahead, more room for me closer to the stage for Thom and Jonny et al.
I was just thinking about this the other day and would love to see it happen.
With Superfly based out of NO, I wonder if they are going for some kind of New Orleans stage with the Nevilles, Rebirth, and Dr.John. The promoters did this in 0f with a bluegrass stage, so this is possible. It would also tie in to possibly raiseing money for the Katrina victims.

Elvis Costello's recent collaborations would definitely lead one to believe he'd be involved in something like this also.

I say it's looking more and more likely for the Lips for a few reasons:
1) Lots of rumors on usarockfestival.com, wikipedia, as well as some pre-initial announcement hype 2) New album 3) They've played before, in 03 4) They're already on Langerado's schedule for this year so they're definitely not adverse to playing festivals and they'll be touring this summer
Now I know that none of this adds up to a definite Lips add, but, as far as likelihood goes, the circumstances and the buzz make them more likely than a lot of other performers.
Hopefully you are right about the lips. They are definitely festival whores so they should be playing. I think that they just were announced to play the San Fran Noise Festival. I feel like I got jipped the one time I saw them (Coachella 2004) since they came on late and only played 4 songs (including Happy Birthday). I did get to see Wayne in the Giant floating bubble though. That was good stuff.

How about SCI, Yonder Mountain and Keller Williams? Or Particle, Tea Leaf Green and Ratdog? The Duo, Leo Kottke and Simon Posford maybe. U-Melt, Brothers Past, Conspirator, STS9... We need more bands like this....

I have a feeling the headlining spots wont be as long. As much as I would love to see a 4 hour Radiohead show, I just don't think they do that, Maybe only 2 and a half hour main stage slots this year. Plus ALOT of the acts on this list don't usually play for as long as previous years acts so that might mean more room for the few "jambands" even though they are up on the list I dont think bands like death cab for cutie will get a 2 hour slot.

Don't get any hopes up for Yonder, they will be playing the Telluride Bluegrass Festival the same weekend as Roo. Speaking of that, no one get your hopes up for too many big name bluegrass bands to play Roo. Fleck and the Flecktones are also scheduled to play Telluride. Does anyone know if they plan on doing both festivals? I see them staying out in Colorado for the weekend. I am hoping for a Cheese addition. However, they have been doing a lot of side projects over the winter and into the spring. Will they reunite for the summer? Ratdog will never show up. Lesh and Weir are not getting along right now due to Lesh's disagreement with the rest of the band on taking the Grateful Dead's live recordings off of archive.org. And rightfully so, bad decision in my opinion, Lesh is the man. I would love to see some STS9 there. And what about the Flaming Lips, Mogwai, Sigur Ros. They all have large gaps in their calenders around the time of Roo and in Mogwai's case from April-Sept. Bring on Keller, his shows are all the same, it will attract a lot of attention away from better acts playing at the same time.

Haha, one of those haters. You obviously haven't seen that many Keller Shows. I don't deny his skill and his innovative ability. However, his innovation hasn't changed or progressed over the past few years. I think this is why he is adding some people to his act for some of his shows this spring. I will be attending his show with Jerry Joseph, Dave Schools (WSP) along with a set from Grateful Grass including Jeff Austin (YMSB) and Keith Mosley (SCI) and am hoping for some amazing music. Maybe if Keller brings some extra people into his act at Bonnaroo it would change my mind on whether I would like to see him or not.
I would have to agree that all Keller shows are the same . . . they're all brilliant. I've seen him multiple times and he always amazes me. Its true, his act hasn't really changed much over the years; but then again, he basically is the only person in his genere; if he changed, where would we go to hear stuff that sounds like Keller Williams?
That article got me real riled to see trey tear it up with phil. This is hopefully something else to look forward to. Regardless, i think phil and friends will be a great show and an awesome end to this years bonnaroo.
has anyone mentioned that matisyahu must be going on sunday? because i read that he doesn't perform on friday or saturday....
not true...he just doesnt play from sundown on friday until sundown on saturday...he could stille play friday during the day or late sat night..... -tom

Cheese and Keller announced 10,000 Lakes, not only this but they are playing together. I think there is a strong likelihood that they will also play Roo. The Keller Williams Incident is amazing, I would much rather see this collaboration than see them play separate shows at Roo. With the already large and strong line-up it would be hard to add three more acts, so why not just add the one. I don't believe they have played together as a band since '02.

Thanks skillful and cal.
I put Matisyahu on Sunday as speculation, as it seems to make sense. I know he could play Friday afternoon or Saturday late night (I think this is a good possibility), but Sunday seems like a good guess for now.

I think the collaberations are one of the things people overlook when they say that Keller can be redundant after so many shows. I also think the fact that although he creates a sound as big as a bands sound he is only one man, he cant psychically link up to his loops and change them when he feels a transition coming.
I've seen keller about 12 times not including festivals and i love it every time. Sometimes his shows are uninspired but thats true for any musician. I feel he mixes it up enough with his repertoire of original material as well as a whole shitload of covers always with his own twist and as i said before, the collaberations. All the stuff he did on Big Summer Classic come on... I would like to see less looping and more of his straightforward guitar playing during some shows.
I'd love to see a Keller Williams Incident although i'd be psyched just to see the Cheese added at all. Keller might come back with the Keels like last year, i wonder if Matisyahu would get a jam goin with him that'd be pretty interesting...
Is it just me or does Friday seem to be the weakest day so far (other than the headliner)? Of the 15 or so bands that I want to see 9 are on Saturday and 5 on Sunday with only one band (Other than Radiohead) that I want to see on Friday. Hopefully they will redistribute the wealth a little bit, because conflicts kill.
Also, since I tend to go balls to the wall, I have a proclivity to peter out by Sunday which would suck since there are so many bands that I need to keep my stamina for. I know I know I need to pace myself, but by the 3rd day of a festival you are pretty much shot (4th when you include thursday night). We need to get some of Bela, MMW, Soulive, CYHSY moved to Friday. Anyone else think Friday is a little weak so (again not including Radiohead)?
You should give Ricky Skaggs a look on Friday he can really get the crowd going. He plays some scorching bluegrass tunes that you just can't help dancing to.
