i have a friend who is going. she only wears dress shoes and she doesnt have a lot of cash. has anyone tried any cheap shoes for roo. she cant buy sanuks or anything ike that and she says no to crocs.
my male friend bought some cheap charlie shoes at dollar general for 5$ and they were GREAT but i dont even know if they have those for women. has anyone tried anything from payless or walmart? she would likel something with a firm sole - and perferably not a flip flop. shes very used to pumps - thats all she wears - or barefoot.
im going to take her to the thrift store and see what we can find. i found some expensive hiking boots there - brand new - not too long ago (they were rockies) and i can usually find keds in there with tags on them for about 2.00. however if some of you can suggest some off brand shoe - that would be a good backup.
I know that i'm a little late on this. But i wore target crocs last year and those the materal was great for the farm ground, the way that the strap connected to the shoe was not. It was bare plastic and rubbed against the side of foot everytime i walked. by the last day i had duct tape wrapped around my foot to stop the rubbing. So the cheap ones are no good.Crocs really are the best way to go,though ugly. You can find really cheap brand new ones on ebay.

you guys are really making me consider getting crocs they're really that good, huh? ???
around here in Orlando, if you wear crocs, you're a 'tourist' and you're looked down upon. it sucks that people have that mindset, yet crocs seem to be really great, according to the few people i know who've tried them out.

OK I will brave the girly fashion thread long enough to say Yes they are that good! I normally swear by my Birks and found that my crocs were way better suited to the farm. I won't wear them around town but they are perfect festie shoes.

ahah, brave the girly fashion thread in order to vouch for crocs... they've gotta be really good festival shoes then!

I think I have worn my Crocs for at least a little bit of almost every single day since I got them last March.
I have worn them all over the country being a tourist, haha, in the ocean on both sides of Fla, all over town running errands, all around the house - I put them on just now as soon as I stepped out of the shower.
I never thought I would be a Croc-wearer, but they work well for me, plus I turned 30 last year & figure I'm old enough to be comfortable & not give a damn. And I admit, I now have 4 pairs - my trusty butter caymans, black aspen, chocolate celeste, & ruby alice, which worked amazingly well under my floor-length bridesmaid dress in my sister's wedding last fall. ;D
I'm not going to tell you what to wear in your everyday life, but for Roo, I cannot bear the thought of anything but Crocs under my feet!

They are THAT good! And this is ick but I have to mention it. Another benefit to crocs is they are easily washable for when they get covered in mud or slime from the porta-potty area.

crocs at festys ONLY
;D and here is my famous croc pic again .
becca-i love how your pink toenail is peeking out through the hole in your crocs! so cute!
and just to weigh in on crocs...yes they are ugly, yes they are the most comfortable shoes in all the world, and yes, they are only for festivals. i do, however wear mine as slippers around the house. i alternate between my bunny slippers and my crocs that i got for 'roo. truthfully, i've been wearing my crocs a lot more than my bunny slippers lately. shhh!! don't tell the bunnies, they will be sad
we were at Eastern Mountain Sports the other day and I pointed the crocs out to my boyfriend and he was like "you arent really considering getting those, are you??" LOL. I am. I spent $100 on two pairs of tevas last year. (the ones i ordered online didnt come on time so i had to go to the store and buy em). I ended up keeping both pairs cause i got two different colors and they are GREAT for hiking... but I couldnt walk at all the last day of roo last year. I couldnt even FIT my feet into the tevas.
For some reason my feet swelled up like two sizes. I really think it was because my body wasnt used to the hot weather... they swelling went down eventually and i was able to walk like 2 days later but my feet permanently morphed like some pregnant women
It's not a huge deal or anything and im sure no one would notice but my feet are now a little puffier... lol

my feet started swelling the first year, also, but that's why my chacos were so awesome..... all the straps are adjustable, so i just kept letting them out a bit throughout the weekend lol
they're not cheap though..... like $95
so i probably will never buy crocs because i have to get my moneys worth out of those chacos!
