This is my bag and it's perfect...I loosen the strap and wear it across my body when I'm walking around, and then I can tighten it and wear it around my waist when I want to dance.
They have some other ones in the same series, and one of my girlfriends has the bigger one which she loves, I just like the smaller bags because they are lighter

Hey girls! Does anyone know of a good site for summer dresses? I honestly can't find anythinggggg I just want some above knee flowy cute dresses and there seems to be a lack of them on the internet.

I just made my first purchase from etsy.com, so I have to show you guys!!
I was looking for jewelry that had the poppy flower. Since my grandfather (my Poppy(whom was the father figure in my life)) passed away last December , I wanted something to just remind me of him whenever I looked at it...and since I don't have tattoos (I was thinking of getting a poppy flower) and probably will never have any tattoos, I figured jewelry was the next best thing
The necklace I fell in love with because it had the little poppies and an owl (wisdom) which I thought was perfect

hey girls! awesome that there is a fashion thread here. not that i am a fashion nut or anything but i hate being dressed inappropriately and i hate being unprepared even more.
unfortunately all our money went into roo (and the stupid new tire, boo!!) so i won't be buying much.
i have a question for some of you experienced rooers. i know everyone says flip flops are the devil and closed toed shoes are the way to rock.. but i am a fl girl and i've worn flips pretty much every day of my life. take that to say my feet are pretty tough. ;-) in this case do you still think flips are totally evil?
clotheswise i think i am pretty much going to tick to bathing suits/tank tops, my two kariza skirts, and some shorts. maybe some jeans for the evenings because i get cold easily. very easily.
i saw someone post above about flowy sundresses and if anyone finds some cute cheap ones online i would also appreciate a link, i am thinking skirts might be the way to rock it most of the weekend.
also, since someone in every group usually brings a backpack, do you bring purses/totes too? i am not much of a purse wearer but i don't know if maybe i should bring my beach tote or something. i hate being tied to carrying a bag though...
I love flip flops, and would never force my toes to be sweaty and gross and covered up all day in the middle of the hot summer sun. It's my first Roo, but I've worn flops to every other show and festival I've been to ever, BUT....I've invested in Chaco flip flops because they have a strong sole and straps that can hold up against anything. Much, much better than the cheapy foam flip flops. They are a little on the pricey side for being flips, but worth every penny. Also, if you go on the website, you can look at the clearance section, they always have great deals there. Good luck!!!
I did flips one year, and just switched to comfy closed toe shoes at night. I did just fine. Now I usually do crocs at fests. Either way, I'm barefoot most of the time anyway.

i've done flip flops both times i've gone to roo...never really bothered me but i do bring sani wipes to periodically see the natural color of my feet again. also, don't forget sunscreen on your feet!!! so important

Even though we still have 44 days, i am alreadt trying to decide what clothes i wanna bring. and its so hard! i can't make up my mind
Dresses, dresses and more dresses! I have 3 short ones and 2 long ones. I may bring a pair of jeans and sweater for evenings but otherwise I am going for the coolest, most comfy option.
My first Roo I wore flip flops Thursday night and regretted it by the time I made it into Centeroo. I'm also a flip flop girl, wear them every day in the summer including on my 2 mile walk home from work, so thought it would be okay. It wasn't. And it was more that the bottoms of my feet hurt than any concern about being open-toed. Luckily I bought a pair of Crocs just for this (I refuse to wear them anywhere else) and they were fab for the rest of the weekend and for last year.
So I'd bring a different pair of shoes, just in case. And I agree with Clarity - if you're not walking, it's always better to be barefoot.
As far as bags, you should have your own. Part of the fun is wandering off to see a show or going back to camp on your own. You don't want your money, sunscreen, water bottle, etc. tied up with someone else who also might want to do some wandering of his own.

so i have a question - usually i'm all for the flowy sundresses and LOVE them. but i was thinking about getting a cute loose-fitting romper/playsuit for this year. something lightweight and strapless...thoughts??
and yes, we are silly...but that's why we are so loved.

The playsuit/romper sounds like a good idea; I actually thought about making one but seeing as how I haven't worn one since I was about 8 or 9, I can't remember how well they did when running around like kids tend to do. Anyone tried one out?

My first thought would be how easy to go to a port-a-porty in one of these?? This is why I love dresses - don't have to worry about your clothes touching the nastyness on the bottom......

excellent, so i won't be the only one wearing flips! :-) yay. i will definitely be bringing my chucks for night time becaue duh at night i won't see what kinds of jaged tetanus-infected metal i might be bumping my dummy toes into. hehe.
an yeah, growing up on FL you learn pretty young to sunscreen your feet or bad things happen. ;D

have you gone in long dresses before? i would think they would get super gross and dirty at the bottom.

i was thinking about getting crocs to bring in case the flips fail me. i have always hated them because they look like my poor tootsies would suffocate in there but it might be a worthwhile investment. i'll probably be a schmuck and leave the tag on and return them if i don't use them, because its not like i am wearing them anywhere else, ever. ;-)
that is good bag advice, but my 'group' consists of myself, my husband, and our 13yo so I don't forsee much splitting up. she is certainly forbidden to go off on her own at this age. i was thinking that a backpack (that he will probably wear) and a purse might be too much, but even so, we might split up, and one adult goes off for a while and the other gets to chill with miss chicky. especially if there are schedule conflicts.
i did some looking around for cute cheap sundresses and i found some cool ones at target. this one is a nice length not too short or too long and it has that elastic stuff at the top and the prints are pretty cute too. just ondering if i will be one of 1000 girls wearing the same dress. heh. its only $18.
Thanks so much for the links! I'm trying so hard to make sure and buy clothes at the best deals because I'm thinking I'm going to be awfully tight on cash after 'Roo. I've made a book- marks folder for summer clothes and every time I find a better deal I make myself delete one of the splurges. I've also made a paper list that I'm doing the same on... it's really helping things a lot.
Karma (or crunchy, whatever!) for the links and for the Weeds avatar! (I'm in the process of catching up with the 4th season ;D)

Yeah i have worn 2 long dresses to Roo - although they are mid calf length, not full length - that might be bad

Hike them up before you go in, and don't them down until after you come out. You may end up flashing your undies a few times, but it's better than poo on the dress.
Picked this up this week. I actually think I'm done with clothing-for-festivals shopping for the year!
Sass. Seriously. this dress is too. freaking. cute. and RIGHT up my style ally. If i wasn't afraid of running into you at the Roo - i would totally get one too. ...mebbe i'll just get it and not wear it to roo...
