I got several from there a couple of weeks ago, all for less than $16, I think. They had a lot of cute, plus-size, Roo appropriate dresses. I'll have to post my haul soon.
ross is the best... they do have tons of summer dresses right now, and also nice tanks, scarves & sun hats
On the question of hats, I read several pages back that floppy hats, when wet, will cover your ears. Has anyone used a stiff brim sun hat? If you have, where did you get it? I'm still debating between a big sunhat and just a fedora to keep the sun off my face.

Hey ladies, just put a dress up on ebay that I thought some of you might like. . . I really want to see someone in this dress at Roo, it deserves a happy home
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...

My experience with floppy hats has been that when the humidity is high, which it was last year, they really flop. I don't know about covering the ears, but I had one at another festival that flopped down over my eyes and it wasn't particularly floppy to begin with. I'm sticking with my stiff brim hats this year.
Here's a link with some cute straw hats, some quite affordable:
edited: one more thought, if you do decide to go with something more on the floppy side, I think the hats labeled as "paper" are probably most susceptable to humidity.
hey girls i saw a couple of pages back (can't seem to find it at the moment) that someone had made their own dress form. I was wondering how this was done cus i really really want one but they are just too expensive for me. could it be done by using something like chicken wire to make the shape and attaching it to a stand then filling with batting or something. i'm really interested in this so if anyone could help that would be awsome.

I wonder how I would fare if I take my floppy Target sun hat and starch the hell out of the brim... Man, I really don't want to buy a new one. I have to have something to shield my face in addition to sunblock SPF 250. I am literally the palest person I have ever met. People like to spar off with me. "Oh, you aren't that light." Then they hold up their arm or leg to mine and, once the blinding paleness wears from their eye balls, they go, "Wow! I look almost african." I'm like, "Yes, yes, I know. Now go and leave my freakish person in peace." <<< TMI?
I wonder if the humidity would affect the starch, kind of like it does with a shirt (you know how shirts go limp in humidity? That could be from being right against your skin, though)? I forgot all my hats last year and just picked up a cheapie in the men's department at WalMart on the way down.
I can't take any chances, I get melasma pretty quickly when the sun gets on my face, even though the rest of me tans quickly and easily. Ugh.

or you could be super girly like me and bring MULTIPLE hats... a baseball cap for rainy weather and a straw/floppy/cowgirl hat for the hot hot hot sunny days
I have a trusty cowboy hat that has been with me for 3 Roos. I splurged and bought a really nice one, just to make sure the brim would stay stiff, but as I was walking through walmart this weekend I saw *almost* the same hat for around $10.
And the dresses that have come up in the past couple of pages are TOOOO cute!
Sorry to get off the hat subject but I had to share this. I get these Ideal Bite tips everyday with little tips for "greening up" your life. Today's tip? Affordable eco-fashion.
The Loomstate for Target line and the zoe&zac line at Payless were featured, along with H&M but I don't have H&M in Tennessee. The Target collection isn't up for sale yet but here's an article with photos of some of the pieces. Not surprisingly, I'm digging the plaid pull-over shirtdress and the cuffed-sleeve t-shirt dress/tunic/thing: www.inhabitat.com/2009/03/22/sustainable-style-loomstate-for-target/
And to go back to hats.....Forever 21!! Found a lot of straw or "straw" hats on there, including cowgirl hats. I'll have to check the local store to see which one I like best. For those of you without a Forever 21, if you are coming down to the Roo a few days early, we now have one in the Boro and it's niiiiice. Oh, and Forever 21 will now have a new line called Faith 21 for extended sizes on May 1!

It's about time! I hate how small their sizes run. I'm definitely not a big girl, and I can only fit into their large about 1/3 of the time. Really ticks me off.
You should come visit here, just for shopping. I think the one here in the Boro is much calmer (not bright blinding white with bumping music cranked to 40) than the one in Nashville. This could be a "research" trip to accumulate supplies for Bonnaroo and provide "reviews" for everyone.
Ok ok, I'm advocating a road trip just for shopping. I'm bad
If you do come out here, let me know -- we can hoop and shop.....hmm, if we could figure out how to do that at the same time, I wonder if they would give us discounts....

Girls! So most of your probably have seen the infomercials for "Smooth Away" it's kind of like a smooth sander that gets rid of body hair... well I just used it on my legs and it totally worked! and as I was using it all I kept thinking is "I'm bringing this thing to bonnaroo!!" It doesn't need water or anything so you could just be sitting in a chair smoothing away any stubble.
...ok now I sound like an infomercial...but I'm telling you it's perfect for Roo!!

I've always wondered if those work. I don't like my legs feeling hairy but I really don't want to have to shave!
On another dress note has anyone tried out the Le Sac dress from American Apparel its super versatile and if you buy it on ebay you can get it pretty cheap. I'm thinking of buying one but I'm not one to trust the integrity of American Apparel's fabric.

Thanks for the link!! I was not about to pay 40 dollars for a giant piece of fabric but I do think the dress is a great idea. They also have a bandeau style dress that cab be worn in a ton of different ways and it's a lot less difficult than the crazy straps of the le sac.

ok, so because of this thread i went to BB&B to get those $10 smooth away pads, and ended up with the pads, a new shower curtain liner(i needed that), a new set of jersey sheets, and a new quilt to replace my down comforter for the summer.

soooooooo $10 turned into $170
i should never be allowed to shop by myself
that sounds like something i would do. especially when i go to walmart. i go in for one or two things and leave with 3 bags full of stuff

btw...the smooth away pads were a waste of a money. if you rub long enough you'll get patches of super smooth skin. but nothing you couldn't get in half the time with a new razor.
