What kind of flowers are you doing? Did you order your dress there too?
Haha, the Mods would probably prefer we take it to the chat room.
But, my flowers are going to be mainly greens (ferns, ivy...) with green hydrangeas and green orchids for a little color. I haven't decided on where I am getting my dress, yet. But, Wai-Ching is one of my top choices at the moment.
I got my stuff from Old Navy today!!! Hooray! The yellow strapless dress is super cute but I would not be able to get away without a regular bra (meaning no strapless bra for me). I'm cool with that
And I know this isn't directly fashion related, but I remember reading about the Neutrogena Cooling Mist sunblock sometime before last year's Roo. Someone in here (I think) recommended it, so I splurged and bought some even though it was $8. But, of course, it was TOTALLY worth the price! Well, I was at Target this past weekend scoping some Bonnaroo supplies, and Target now makes their own version of the Cooling Mist sunblock! And it's $2 cheaper than Neutrogena!

Glad you like the yellow one - so cute!
I recommended the Neutrogena cooling mist - we buy it every year just for Roo and it keeps us all from burning and isn't messy. Have you tried the Target version yet? I am wary of buying cheap on things like sunscreen so I wonder? i shop at Walmart so it's pretty cheap there anyway

Hi everyone! I lurked last year to get ready for my first roo and all of the tips & tricks from you ladies were really helpful! I thought I`d pop in this year to say hi! This year will be roo number two!
Also , I was wondering if anyone else wears hair extensions? I know this is kind of random, but I have a thing w/ my hair being too short. I usually have long hair but bc I dyed it so much in the past I had to cut a good amount off in October and I'm just letting it grow since. I own 4 pairs of Ken Paves HairDo clip in extensions ( straight/curly in blond & brown) that were good for about year but now they are just rats nests lol. I also bought the Paris Hilton clip in extensions but they don't come layered so I had to cut ad style those myself. I finally found the HairDo human hair extensions for $150 on ebay (instead of $500 everywhere else) so I'm hoping they work ok. The thing is... I hate having short hair so I was just curious is anyone else feels the same or has tried any of these products and what your feedback is? Am I crazy for even thinking about wearing extensions at Roo?
Hi ladies -- I'm not a huge poster, but always check this thread for cool finds and wanted to share. Soul-flower.com has these pretty tie-dye skirts for only $16, and I thought some of you might like them.
^ooh, yeah, they have some really cute stuff. My mom got me some super cute dresses from Kohls and Target. I don't know how to put up the links to Kohl's site, but the dresses are from the junior's dept. and are part of the "derek heart" collection. When I opened them up on my birthday, the boyfriend said, "wow, baby, those have bonnaroo written all over them", lol. Really cute though!
i would not want to deal with extensions at roo. the sewn or braided in ones are heavy and hotter than real hair and hard to wash. the bonded kind that you can do yourself will come out if they get too wet. ii have not tried the clip on kind but my guess is that they would get fuzzy or would slip out. maybe yo ucould try the clip on kinds over a weekend before roo and try and give them some pretty hard treatment.
even really nice extensions that are braided in require a LOT of extra care or they look gross. you need to keep them as flat and straight as possible when washing etc. maybe if you are had them a long time you would be fine but i dont want any extensions during the summer months when i am active and more sweaty.
hey we got an urban outfitters here in nashville. OMG!
has anyone been to forever 21 recently? they have some new cute things too.
Just wanted to update y'all on the dress I ordered from jayli.com: it arrived today, it's not the color of the dress on the site (and there was no disclaimer saying it might arrive in a different color), it's very, very sheer and, overall, I think the quality isn't that great. It's also what I would consider mini-length and it's represented as midi length on the site. I'll be returning it.
hey i've been lurking this thread for quite some time, and just joined inforoo.
i was wondering what you ladies do in terms of bags/purses? i guess camelbaks are nice but i don't know if it's worth it. does anyone just use a cute oversized bag/purse?

Welcome!! I used my hydration pack as a purse last year. But I saw a lot of girls that just had cute bags. It's whatever you're comfortable with. Sassbox had a good suggestion with changing it out at night... I might try that this year!
I did buy a super cute purse from a vendor at Roo. I was too scared to use it there in case I ruined it before I got home. And I still use it to this day!
I like a backpack with lots of small pockets because it's easier to find things. My first year I had a pack that was just one large pocket and I could never find anything. However, that problem could have been solved by having more small make-up bag sized bags inside.
But yeah, I don't see the need for a huge pack. Just big enough for a thin blanket, water bottle and sunscreen.
I have always used a big, cross the body purse in the past. But I just made a really cool patchwork back pack that I can't wait to use this year. But I'll prob bring my big purse, too, just in case I'm annoyed by the back pack.
Here's the back pack I made. I'm really proud of it, and it has a bunch of handy pockets.
I didn't use a pattern. I just took some measurements from another back pack to figure out the size. It's just a rectangle bottom, and four rectangle sides, with a drawsting at the top. Use whatever patches you want to make up those rectangles, add a bunch of pockets and some straps, and you're good to go!
I'd suggest using some batting to pad the straps and maybe the bottom and back, too.
For the butterflies, I just used this iron on stuff my mom gave me. But you can get it at any fabric store. I'm just not sure what it's called. You iron it on to a piece of fabric, cut out the shape you want, then iron that onto the bag.

This is my first time posting here as well as my first time attending Bonnaroo. I'm finding myself more and more excited to be going. I think I'm going to enjoy it.
This has been a great resource for ideas on clothing that works well for the situation, i.e. chaffing. Lol. I know that was my first concern b/c I'm a good sized girl.
Again, just wanted to say hello. Everyone have a great day!

I personally don't like camelbacks or backpacks so I bought this for Roo last year and also use it as my regular purse. It is big enough to hold everything I need for Centeroo and has lots of pockets. I have mine in Natural and it looks nicer than the pic:
Am I the only girl around here who just can't wear dresses? I can't bring myself to do it. The last dress I wore was at my wedding 5 years ago.
I usually rock capris and a tank.
My bonnabuddy doesn't do dresses either. She tried the first day last year and, as she claims, "almost died". She wore shorts and tanks the rest of the time and seemed perfectly content.
I like to feel a breeze up my skirt, makes it feels less hot ;D

i just don't like anything close against my body at roo. i'm hot enough without something hugging me all day. i just wear a pair of bike shorts under my skirts/dresses and i'm good to go.
most of mine of ankle-length, though. that way if i for some reason don't have a blanket, i still have something to sit on.
Hey Ladies! It's been a little while since I been on. Since those crazies at Superfly havent given us any good announcements, and it's possible that my bf and i won't be together for roo (which we have for the past 2 years), my Bonnaroo-excitement has worn a little. But I DID go on with making the knitted headbands.... and one of them (the 3rd???) has finally come out worthy of posting. Im at work right now, but I"ll try to take a good pic soon and post it up. I am pumped about it.

this is what i used the past few years. i can wear it across my chest and get around easier. i carried a camelbak the first few years and to me it wasn't worth it. it was heavy and it made me really hot having something covering my back. the water went way to fast. i just bring a nalgene bottle and refilled it. this year i got one from the less-bottle water program to refill.
its a kavu bag, it was only $35. it has two zippers pockets on the outside and several pockets on the inside. it comes in all sorts of cute colors. and its a good size.. i could fit a sheet to sit on, flash light, wallet, water bottle, stuff i bought, cell phone, map, napkins etc.
