I've been making a series on YouTube breaking down the most underrated artists on the line-up this year.
I've always slacked on paying attention to the undercards (unless I already knew of them), but this year, I decided I wanted to dedicate a ton of time to listening to every single artist on the line-up, starting from the bottom up. Since I'm generally pretty bad at actually following through with such a blanket goal, I decided to make it a little more pro-active and make some videos breaking down the sound of each artist.
The method I decided to go with was to make a giant spreadsheet with how many monthly followers each artist on the line-up has on Spotify and then sort them from lowest to highest. It's not a perfect metric, but it generally seems to work (other than with jam bands since they're generally not very active on Spotify). So far, I've managed to find a lot of great artists that I'm now really looking forward to.
