off topic but have any of you been to Vegas? (probably) Going in November for a Bach party and trying to figure out as much budgeting as I can to be prepared. Looking for any tips or advice I can find.
If you plan to really venture around (like most would) I highly recommend staying somewhere in the middle of the strip. Everything is walkable, but it makes it so much easier to be in the middle. If you stay at the Wynn for instance, which is an incredible hotel and resort, you are looking at a significant walk down the strip to get to anything. Same goes for the hotels on the south end (Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, Luxor, Tropicana). I recommend the Cosmopolitan or Ballys, or one of the others in that center area.
Also they have bar crawl deals you can do which sound like a rip off, but actually ended up being pretty cool. We haggled with the dude selling the passes.. I think it ended up being about $60 a person. For that price you got to go on a bar crawl each night of the weekend (Thur-Sun). It included VIP/express admission into the clubs and bars, a couple drinks included at each stop, among other things. It's also a very easy way to meet the single ladies since there were a lot in the group. So if you've got single guys in your group... yea it works out well.
EDIT- Saw you are likely staying at MGM. That's one of the bigger hotels and a bit on the south side, but not a bad spot.
Yeah MGM is def nice, it's just far down on the one end but not terrible. You'll love it tho, Dan. Those sportsbooks are electric on college football Saturdays and nfl Sundays.

saw the bar crawl deals today on Groupon and passed it along to the group. Def sounds worth it to me from everything i read on it. would make for a good play after already doing bottle service another night.

definitely trying to limit table games so i have cash for football. With the Eagles on a bye that weekend it'll be easier to invest in other games. Hoping to nail a parlay or to make up for some spending.
I had a nasty run last year when I was there. 7-0 in college fball, but I didn't parlay anything. Could have been a monstrous weekend but it all ended up being paid for. I'll never forget it. October 8th- Penn St +3, Kansas +28, Va Tech PICK, FSU +3, Wash -10, A&M/K State teaser, Wazzu/Stanford OVER 51. It was glorious.

Nice! It's funny how you remember these things. I had a 3 team MLB parlay that got me I think like a nice $700 payout. I'm an Orioles fan, so I had BAL@bos, plus COL@LAD (Grienke), and TEX@SEA (Hernandez).
shit still remember the first parlay i hit 8 years ago on college hoops. Not positive about spreads except for a ballsy clincher of Duke -25 on the road at Wake to go with Tex Tech, K-St, Iowa St.
Also first ever bet i made i won on Kansas football +19 vs OK with Tim Reesing backdooring in the final minute. i went nuts lol

Nothin will get ur balls tingling more than a last minute backdoor cover.

Vegas is fun. The Sunday Brunch at House of Blues was great and good show. Margaritaville was fun. HRC worth the walk. Concur with middle resort. We stayed east of the strip at Royal Orleans gir a couple conventions. Saw Lee Ann Womack who was great even if not one of my favorites. I won big on Dallas vs NYG on a Monday Night opener couple years back. The Bellagio at night for lights and water show really big for married or couples. Best to budget your gambling and shopping if you don't want a huge hole in your bank account.
Royal Blood was great. Short show (hour and 15 minutes) but they were non-stop energy rock and roll. Dude gets some crazy sounds from a bass. Kept the crowd engaged. Sweat through their shirts. Jumping around. Climbing out on a railing around the crowd. I'd rather see that then most anything Hangout has put out the past few years.
1/17 Spafford 2/7 Greensky Bluegrass 3/17 Cool Cool Cool 3/28 Ekoostik Hookah 7/10 Jason Mraz 7/11 Chris Stapleton 7/12 Red Hot Chili Peppers 7/13 Buffalo Ska Fest
Also hangouts had plenty of good bands that > royal blood.
I agree with moten33 and his qualifier "the last few years" and "most". Out of 80 or so bands last two years, only 8-10 Hangout performers better than Royal Blood given the show I saw at Roo this year. And yes, they get a lot out of a bass and drum set.
Ive gone down a GLO hole and can't gtfo. PUMPED to be seeing them again in a month. krisplettuce are they touring up in Dallas?
Would be a fucking beast of a tent closer but I'd rather have this on the Surf Stage closing. I think they'd need to put out an album again to gain any attraction to a major fest at this point but it isn't like their style isn't perfect.
And to troll by homie ne215 here they are at the Troc
Krisp's lineup gets me back. Girlfriend or no girlfriend in tow. My old festival buddy is considering moving back to the states after two years in China and wants a fest with me at some point this summer.
Kings of Leon - Gorillaz - Lana Del Rey Pharrell Williams - Alt J - The National Galantis - A$AP Rocky - Glass Animals
more i think of it i really wouldn't mind catching KoL again but The killers feel more "now" and we know hangout lubs that.
KoL post "Only By the Night" does nothing for me. But everything Killers that isn't "Hot Fuss" does nothing for me too. Given those two I wouldnt see either if there was a solid DJ in Boom Boom.

its Porter Robinson vs The Killers.
I would see Porter over anyone you can put on that lineup.
