Hey Radius, I wasn't 100% sure if that's old guy looking back fondly or a wtf meme. I finally remembered where I got that shit from. It was chronicalized in Urban Struggle the documentary named after The Vandals' song by the same name (I want to be a Cowboy...) from Peace Through Vandalism. The documentary was about the b.s the owner of Cuckoo's Nest in Costa Mesa had to deal with. They say it's where it is believed the first slam circles/mosh pits ever got started. We didn't really dive hard into hardcore until around 84, and that's 6-7 years later. But the legends were that Boston was most the violent scene, and L.A. was the origin.
