Oh snap. Right as he was getting his feet under him. Big blow for them even though their backup isn't too shabby.
Maybe the PED's was why he was improving so quickly. Did not look good against ECU, UK, nor in the 1st half against the Vols. Came up big in the 4th quarter against Tennessee, then played really well against Ole Miss and Mizzu. Grier has been throwing the ball around 30 times a game while rushing around 5/6 times...last year when Treon was starting, he was throwing the ball 15-20 times a game while rushing 12-15 times. Wonder if they plan on trying to run a similar ratio with Treon or use him like last year. My guess is McElwain doesn't want to change much with what they have been doing, but he is more effective if he can focus on being mobile.
Tough first start of the year being in Baton Rouge, but the game is not as important for Flordia as one would think. Next week they play Georgia, in which a win would all but lock-up the SEC East...after that it's Vandy/South Carolina/FAU before playing Florida State.
Ok Sang. You pick how much $$$ you want to bet and you have my acceptance. The bet is this: If FSU runs the table and are one of the 4 playoff teams, you win. if they go undefeated and don't make the final 4, I win. If they lose, bet is cancelled.
I should mention that right now FSU and ND have matching 22/1 odds to make the playoffs. So you should start planning what couch you are going to burn once this comes to fruition.
$20. But hopefully neither of us win. No one wants FSU to be undefeated again.
Why even ask for the leave if you're going to fire Sark a day later? It will be interesting to see who they go for, I would say not many coaches would want to touch it right now, but let's be honest USC football recruits itself, an empty chair could recruit a top 10 class there

I think it's still a highly desirable job. Haden might want to back off of the "USC guy" approach to the search, though. The last two USC guys didn't work out so well.

I think, because of that, Haden isn't going to have the opportunity to do this search. At least he shouldn't.
It's still one of the best jobs out there - lots of money, new facilities, the LA market, the weather, the Song Girls, the other girls, the other other girls, Hollywood, tradition...
Michigan up to a touchdown favorite for Saturday. Seems high.
If they do win out I think they will be in the playoff. They would get the nod over a one loss SEC champion.
I dunno, I'm thinking this could be another blowout. State has looked like shit the last few weeks, and that win over Oregon is looking less impressive every game.
I've never seen a Michigan team play with this sort of killer instinct. If they had a quarterback that could complete a pass over 10 yards they'd be real dangerous.
Edit: Also, I was at the game this weekend and people were losing their minds. We were up 31-0 in the 4th and the stadium was still basically full.

I think Michigan will win, but I could see it being a three or four point game. State is going to have a hard time putting up any points on Saturday.....hasn't Michigan only gave up 10 or 14 points since the Utah game?
Be interesting to see who comes out ahead in the rankings if both Michigan and Bama win this week.

Michigan has one of the best defensive lines in college football, and Michigan State now has like 4 offensive lineman injured. Some people are worried that Connor Cook will pass well enough to keep State in the game, but I think he'll be pressured enough where he won't play as well as many people think. Also, the State defense is still good, but it hasn't been nearly as good as the past couple of years since they lost their DC Pat Narduzzi. If their offense plays smart and doesn't lose the turnover battle (one thing State has excelled at), I think Michigan will definitely win.

The only team State held to under 20 this season is Central Michigan.

Their front seven is still really good, even though their DB's aren't playing that hot. I figured since, like you said, Rudock hasn't shown he can really hurt anyone downfield (part of the that is on the WR's too cough Chesson), that would favor MSU. Michigan's o-line has greatly improved, but I don't think anyone they've played is as experienced as the MSU front seven. Hopefully Isaac is trusted after that Maryland game, and Johnson/Smith are 100% healthy.

The two easiest scenarios I can think of are 1) Sarkisian did something to make the situation worse like lie about his efforts to get treatment or show up intoxicated to a meeting or 2) Haden got information that made him feel confident that they could get a specific slam dunk hire. I think Haden is fighting for his job right now, so he may also be panicking a little.
Michigan is going to beat State easily. State has looked shaky in their victories, and as has been brought up, that Oregon victory isn't carrying much weight right now.
You aren't even allowed to complain. I have never seen a team as injured as we have been this season Of course it happens in the season without a bye
I am 99% sure Tennessee hasn't played a down this season with all their starters in the game with multiple players being lost for the season. I'll complain all I want.

I'm 100% sure we haven't. We lost the anchor of our O-line for the season before the week before first game and had 2 WRs injured that same week expected to return but haven't yet, the same game we lost the best defensive player in the country. We have lost 3 more players at MLB, 2 more WRs, our QB for 7 quarters, our starting RB has been banged up, a starting safety missed last game and is questionable for this week.

Ok? Not sure how that invalidates Tennessee having injury problems too.

Remember, if the guy next to you has been shot in the shoulder but you've only been shot in the leg, you must stay silent.
