I fell in love with the John Carpenter album this morning. It was the first thing I threw on while I got my early stuff done for work. It was the perfect soundtrack. Gonna give it another listen when Im not at work without headphones and see if it still sticks with me. Spotify has a couple remixes on the album. All excellent especially the Zola Jesus/Dean Hurley "Night" Remix.
The only other thing to add is a new addition to Nicolas Jaar's Other People label (John Bence - Disquiet ep) which is supposed to be out February 23. Also, Chromatics said Dear Tommy should be out before Valentine's Day.
I'm excited for José González, Dan Deacon, but mostly for BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface. What're ya'll looking forward to the most?
Well Mount Eerie is already out and is currently winning the month. But I'm looking forward to Chromatics and Deacon as well.
I've only listened to some of Mount Eerie's stuff from a few years ago, but Sauna has been getting some love around here, might have to give it a listen if that winning streak continues.

I woudl say father john misty - but I've already listened to it a thousand times. but I already know it'll be getting my vote.
chromatics, nicolas jaar, and dan deacon will be great!!
Holy shit, I wish it was actually Nicolas Jaar who was coming out with new music. A newcomer who he has faith in is going to have to suffice for now.

I think this month will be a battle between Father John Misty and BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface. I need to check out Mount Eerie, and I'm also excited for A Place to Bury Strangers and Chromatics.
If you know anything I should add to this list, let me know.
Shadow Shows by Seryn is coming out on Nov. 17. Their last album, This Is Where We Are, was by far my favorite album of 2011. There's already a single from this album on Spotify for the song "Disappear".

I'm not super excited about anything on this list except Dan Deacon and A Place To Bury Strangers. Am I missing something I need to get hyped for?
I feel kinda like I'm on an island here but while enjoy the new Father John Misty, I'm surprised by the level of praise it is getting. I'm a big fan of his and this new album is certainly a more complete album than Fear Fun is. The album is consistently good and very beautiful but I don't think it has very high peaks. I miss the energy and the swagger of songs like I'm Writing a Novel and Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings. It's certainly a contender for AotM for me, but I'm hopeful something else is more interesting.
How many times does Dan Deacon have to mentioned before you listen to it? Good grief.
And then Screaming Females are going to come and slay everything.

I agree with you. FJM album is good, but I'm not blown away by it.
