I go to a local framing shop and they charge ~$150 for matting/framing (w/UV glass) after using their periodic discounts. They do a great job and I feel good about supporting a family owned business.
If you really want to get affordable with it, buy a standard frame that is bigger than whatever poster/print you have and just have a custom mat cut to fit your poster into it. If I had more wall space I'd probably do this with some of the billion posters that are currently in my closet.

The biggest and easiest way to go wrong with Hobby Lobby is by supporting such a garbage company in the first place

Well, I have a uterus so actually I would say you can't go wrong with Micheal's! ...but like, whatever.
Believe me, if I had a local alternative that could provide the same products/service for close to the same price, I wouldn't be at Hobby Lobby either.
Truth is, any local frame shop around me charges a very inflated amount for the same thing. And many don't offer the same quality glass.
I completely understand if someone doesn't want to support Hobby Lobby. But until I find a viable alternative, they'll be my go-to for framing needs. (which won't be much, nearly out of wall space)
