I have heard and even said a bunch of those words, but have never heard the one they say is Canadian. I have never seen or heard the word garburator before.
The author probably heard it from one drunk Newife some night.

This disappoints me. However, I have gained a new word today, so my disappointment is not life-threatening.
EDIT: In reality- it's pretty stupid to choose lingo from areas as small as Michigan's upper peninsula and then group all Canadians together as one territory. It's probably a specific area of Canada that says it.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I have heard the word used on a few occasions, and as onion said, the people using the term were all born and raised in Newfoundland. I would consider it a Newfie term rather than Canadian, but this is no difference to you.
After our 6 days in Canada coming to Alaska, my daughter absolutely fell in love. She is planning in a few short years--god I can't believe I am saying that--on getting into school for art (graphic design) and has decided to go to university there. We are looking into buying a motor home for such event. Any good suggestions for schools up there?

East Coast, I'd look into NSCAD. It's in Halifax, and it's fairly reputable. Other than that, I'd look into schools in Vancouver, Calgary (surprisingly enough, Cow Town has a large art culture hidden behind the cowboy hats) Toronto or Montreal. I'm not aware of any by name, but know artsy fartsy folk who attended schools in each of these cities.
I live in Florida. A lot of older people move down here from the northern states to avoid the winters, then migrate back up north to avoid our summers. We call those people snowbirds. I've always wondered if y'all experience something similar, just opposite seasons of course. Also, outside of hockey. What's the second most popular sport?

Will trade disney tixs 4 Pemberton!
Well, Lacrosse is actually Canada's official National sport, but it's not nearly as popular. I'd say our version of football (CFL), Curling, and soccer are all neck and neck.

Ha, we call them snowbirds here too. Pretty sure come winter, Florida becomes an official Canadian province. The Toronto Star (newspaper) even ships/prints down there daily.
As for Pemberton, you missed it. It was this past weekend. Unfortunately, someone died there this year, and it may have been a murder.
I'm not in Canadialand, but older generations in New England do that as well. If they have the funds they split their years like that, otherwise, they just pick up and head to Florida.

This will be useful, but in honesty, it won't have a major impact in how I listen to music. I see me using Spotify so I don't have to download everything then delete the shit I'll never listen to again afterwards. I'll still be using my iPod for the majority of my listening,
Ummmmmm, ok. I didn't know about all the awesome stuff Spotify can do. Like the radio stuff, and liking stuff into a playlist and making stuff available offline and activity and sharing and just all of it.

Attention Canadians! I'm thinking of moving to Canada but I have no idea where I should go. Help a brother out!
what are you looking for/ reasons you're interested in moving up here
I wanna be far enough from civilization to where I can have my privacy but still close enough going to town doesn't turn into a day trip. Kinda like Manchester. And I think Canada will come out of this Ebola shit on top

besides southern Ontario, you could easily achieve this anywhere in canada. So you may have to narrow it down a bit. If scenery is important, you're looking at East coast (Nova Scotia, preferable outside Halifax). B.C or southern Alberta (Calgary area). I'm a big fan of Calgary, great music scene, and close to the mountains. There are quite s few smaller communities in the surrounding area.

It's not as easy as that.
You must be able to recite the lyrics to at least 4 Stompin' Tom Conner's songs. You must know how to oven roast a beaver for the neighbourhood upon arrival. The French are assholes.

Wait, there's Canada outside of Southern Ontario?

I'd love some scenery. And having an awesome music scene wouldn't be so bad either. As long as I have a place to be at peace during hokey season I'll be ok lol. I don't much care for hokey.

Lol good call. Damn Swype. I didn't even think hokey was a word.
