Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I brought Maple syrup, for the intent of drinking with whiskey. Lol. The maple whiskey is good too tho. onion can direct you to the better bars in Toronto. I've only been once. I'm more of a Montreal guy myself.
Maybe I just drank maple syrup and whiskey separate. Sometimes brunch memories can be a bit foggy lol. Who knows what I drink at brunch.
very true! I do believe someone had the Crown Royal Maple at brunch, so that's likely what you had. I don't know if many took part in the maple syrup whiskey chaser. I kinda just dropped it off at the bar with bunny and Druid and got lost in the sea of inforoorrs.
First, sorry! I totally ripped the idea, I've credited you in the OP.
Second, hoser is just like saying dummy. It's not offensive
And finally, the French Canadians are pretty sensitive about being called "frogs". It's about as offensive a word you can use to call them.
That's because it reminds them they're French; who wants that?
. I'll have you know some of the greatest people in history are French, sir. Guy LaFleur, Maurice "The Rocket" Richard, Jean Beliveau! And they have Montreal! And they have French women. Must really suck being french....
Do Canadians have a box they can only open if the princess gets kidnapped?
the box of faith is to be opened only when canada is in grave danger. It contains a sandwich, location beacon, a sword, helmet, and first aid kit, as well as a video of the Prime Minister
Obviously you know somebody who has already opened their box of faith. Please let them know, that they are a dick!.
In the Video the prime Minister gives the following Speech:
"Hello there, my noble, strong, fellow Canadians. If you are watching this film strip, then no doubt Canada is in grave danger. As you know, the very heart of Canada is the Royal Family. If you have been ordered to open your Box of Faith, then one or more of the Royal Family must be in peril. Or else you just opened your Box of Faith and are watching this without being told to, in which case you are a dick. If you have indeed been instructed to open the box, then this is a call to arms! All Canadians in fighting condition are asked to meet by the tree in Edmonton. In your Box of Faith you will find all the items you need: a location beacon, a first-aid kit, and a sandwich. You may eat the sandwich now. Good luck, Canadian citizen, and God help. All of Canada is relying on you."
Can you recommend any good bars in Toronto? I'm going to be spending a week in town next month. Also are you the one who brought that delicious maple syrup whiskey? I need to bring some home with me.
I can definitely help you out. What kind of scene are you into?

Boner, that's the best response to anything I've ever posted anywhere period lol

I'm pretty much just paraphrasing that episode, but trust me, it's all from memory.

I can definitely help you out. What kind of scene are you into?
Low key, dive bar-ish. I am a huge craft beer drinker. Nothing clubby.

Wow! You couldn’t have described, any better, the type of places I like to go!
Luckily for you, Toronto’s craft beer scene is HUGE! It is really taking over, and there are amazing beer bars everywhere.
If you are staying downtown, West-Queen-West is your friend. Stroll up and down this street, and you’ll find so many places that you will like. Some of my favourites there: -Rhino – huge craft selection, and good food too -Part & Labour
Other amazing places you’ll love that are pretty central:
C’est What (Front St): massive selection, and cool underground pub. My first “favourite place” after moving to Toronto Bar Volo (Yonge St): craft beer and brown liquor, is their slogan. Home of cask days festival. Tallboys (Bloor West): great selection, and good atmosphere Bellwoods Brewery (Ossington St): an old mechanic/garage turned into a brewpub. Cloak & Dagger (College St): great beer cave Bier Markt (King West or Esplanade): two central location with hundreds of beer to choose from, and dozens of taps.
Not technically downtown, but not far, and worth the subway Indie Ale House (Dundas St West): Great selection of in-house brews, and terrific food, awesome music Hole in the Wall (Dundas St West): Across the street from Indie. Lives up to its name, as it can be tricky to find. Great place with awesome staff. Craft beers and prohibition era cocktails. I’ll be there this evening, and maybe again tomorrow, lol.
Indie and HITW are two of my personal favs, and not just because I lived in the area. Plus just a couple minutes away is Junction Brewery where you can go drink between 4-8 Thurs-Sat.
Do not hesitate to msg me when you know where you are staying, and I can give you more localized suggestions.
EDIT: You should check the concert listings when you are here. If you are here for a week, there's a good chance that a band you like will be playing somewhere.
Where outside Toronto? I find myself saying that, when I'm actually about an hour and a half north east.
And Canadians do rule Bonnaroo. The road trip is so fun. There's an incredible rush when you see another Ontario plate somewhere in Kentucky.
hour and a half north east.....ha, same place perhaps?
Peterborough.
I always found it easier explaining to people that it was Toronto area. Although, now that I live in Toronto, I would never consider Peterborough to be even close to being in the GTA.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

Wow, Thanks a lot! This is a great help. I'm staying with a friend who lives in Mt. Albert but we plan on spending a lot of time in Toronto. I met her while traveling and it's my first time going to Canada. I'm actually going to see Arcade Fire and Lydia. I planned this entire trip around Arcade Fires stop there. I didn't want to wait until August to see them in Chicago,
My friend however doesn't drink, that's why I needed the advice on finding a bar. Also have tickets to the hockey hall of fame for my visit.
Wife and I are making the journey to the Farm from Ottawa.
Just curious if there are usually a large number of Canadian flags around the camps?
Really looking forward the celebration and hopefully partying with some fellow country(wo)men!!!
You'll see the Canadian flag throughout the camping areas, and in the crowds at every stage, We're everywhere. I may or may not be flying my Nova Scotia flag this year. If I do, and you see it, come say hi. If it's not me, say hello anyway. They are from Nova Scotia, and will be equally as awesome as I.

There was a "Canadian Embassy" tent not too far behind camp inforoo this year. I see Canadian flags flying everywhere. I came in with Canadians last year. They were the first, second, and third cars in and i was fourth. Hung out with them all day wednesday up until Thursday afternoon when I had to schlep all my shit to TO. Meeting them first thing could not have been a better way to start roo off this year.
Since this is the canadian thread I guess I should say this here. I don't much care for hockey. I mean I get the appeal its just not for me.
