I order it without when I remember (usually don't), but I always think it makes me sound fussy. But yeah, shouldn't they ask if you WANT lemon? CPK and I have agreed that if/when we have our own dining establishment, we would go that route.
Same with ordering a milkshake or sundae without the nasty "cherry" on top.
I used to forget more often than not, but now it's become a reflex.
Josh and I talk about what we will do when we open our own dining establishment too! We are thinking kind of a diner with a pretty significant baked goods/dessert menu.

We almost live close enough to join forces... That's basically what we'd want too

like a perkins?
I guess. I haven't been inside a Perkins in probably 15 years, and it didn't really make a significant impression on me. Our menu would just be built around what we are good at making, so we know it would include chili, biscuits and gravy, and potato soup. Other things as well, of course. And I love to bake and make sweet things, so the desserts would be important.

I'm pretty sure that with the four of us working together, we would have a freakin' awesome restaurant!
Work WAS hell because my throat was killing, buuuut I left early to finish the day from home and now I get to be snug in my bathrobe for my conference calls. Yay
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

If you come back to Nashville for a visit, we'll have to visit a new place I've discovered: Goozy. It's basically a "desert bar" with alcohol, gelato and CAKE. But they also have some awesome sandwiches.

WTF? Maraschinos are the shit!
made maraschinos in a biology class once. Never ate them again.

maraschinos are..... really fucking disgusting. and not a real food.
I worked with this girl who used to eat them by the handful when she waited for her drinks at the bar. I couldn't even look at her without wanting to shudder. all I could think about was her shoving "cherries" into her mouth. she was also really, really, really weird. I don't know how she was able to be a server. well, she wasn't. she got fired.
EDIT: I quoted "cherries" because they are absolutely not real cherries. but re-reading it, it looks odd. baha

That is fucking disgusting. I just don't understand why anyone would want to take a perfectly good and delicious cherry, remove all that is awesome about it, and fill it with chemicals and artificial flavorings that are actually pretty bad for you.
(heyyitskait this isn't directed towards you specifically - or anyone else - but your post made me think of it)
I'd like to know how many people on here are completely fine with smoking, heavy drinking, or ingesting synthetic drugs but refuse to eat maraschino cherries because they're full of chemicals.

i think it's one of those things that once you see "how the sausage is made," if you will, you kinda step back and rethink it. But I agree with you. Everyone's a hypocrite at some point.

Heavy drinking is okay, since alcohol comes from vegetables. How else is anyone expected to get their daily recommended intake? But those cherries on the other hand......
So.... we had a meeting at work a week or two ago about our jobs and while they rearranged us, they assured us everyone that currently has a job would not lose theirs. But vacant positions were all gone now.
Found out today, between dept of finance and admin (DFA) and my own agency BOTH submitted legislation to have my agency placed under DFA and for jobs to be cut.
God damn. I just cant catch a break. I really love my job -- just wish someone would have taken charge before our agency got so deep that all of this had to happen. And of course they didn't tell the employees, we had to hear it on the news, AGAIN. At least this time we didn't make the front page of the newspaper?

Sorry to hear. Hopefully you're able to keep your job and it all works out. That's also really sh*tty to find on the news and you didn't hear it at your job firsthand. Fingers crossed that things fall in your favor.

I refuse to eat maraschino cherries because they taste like shit.
I used to go door to door in chicago for a "marketing firm" pushing energy to people. All commission based pay, really sucked. Did it for about a month. The best sales days were the worst days. Those were the days I was knocking door to door in the worst neighborhoods in the south side. For two weeks in was in the lakeview neighborhood near wrigley field. I made next to nothing because nobody there gives a shit what they pay on their electricity/gas bills.
But you meet a lot of cool people and people of all walks of life which is cool. However one day as I, a small white dude in a suit, am walking to my truck in the englewood neighborhood of the south side, a trembling black man approaches me from a vacant lot.
I swear to you, this man was none other than Tyrone biggums. If you don't know who that is. Head over to youtube and search him. He is the crackhead dave chappelle portrayed on the chappelle show. He proceeds to ask if I'm a cop. I say no man I'm not. He then asks if I have any money for him. I tell him I got some change in my truck hold on. He says I need like 5 dollars. I laugh and say I don't have 5 dollars man but you can have all these pennies nickels and dimes. I scoop them up from my cup holder area and he holds his hands out and I pour the change into his hand. Damn! Thanks man! He exclaims and runs off like I just gave him gold.
All of his dialogue was in te exact same high pitched voice chappele does in his bits with Tyrone. That was my last day working that job for I figured I had now seen it all at that point and it was time to move on.

sounds like my job. we had a bomb threat and didn't know until family members started calling because it was on live news

You guys are really missing out not working here. I work with a guy who is an expert in everything. For most of the last day, I am gotten to listen to him explain at length how, despite it being signed off on by a group of actual experts, a process a contractor is submitting is "questionable" because he doesn't understand how it works. He is so sure of this that he has talked and talked about it without taking any initiative to do any research on it to broaden his knowledge on it because he obviously already knows everything there is to know about it. Spotify Radio engage!
Die Antwoord wore me out last night. I should not have decided to go to work today.
I had a show last night, too.... I didn't get home until after 3 am. my boss gave me a two hour delay to come in. It took everything I had to get showered and ready this morning. I am dizzy from the hangover headache and just want to go home.
The saving grace is my cousin's funeral is at 2, so I'm leaving work early. Not for good reasons, but it beats sitting at work on a friday hungover all day.

Major changes here have led to us playing musical offices. I got put in one that is half the size of my old one, and I no longer have a window. But for some reason that I can't quite explain, I like this one better than my old one, so I guess it all worked out for the best.
You guys might be seeing a lot less of me in the coming weeks. I just got handed my first solo project at work - it's hard to determine how consistently busy it is going to keep me, so I can't say how much free time I'll have to be on here. I just didn't want everyone thinking I fell off a cliff or something.

Sounds cozy! You'll have to snap it to us once you're all moved in.

It is! I have everything moved in, but the guy who is going to help me hang up my pictures and diploma won't be able to help for a couple of weeks. I'll send snaps once I've got everything up.

I'm oddly overly excited to see it! I love checking out where people work/live.
Also, it didn't dawn on me that I should dust off my diploma and put it in my office until about a week ago. Duh. The frame and document have just been sitting at my parents house for the last decade or so.
