I'm a manager with a small independent record label based out of North Alabama with four bands that we work with, I'm headed to Bonnaroo for the first time next month and was curious about selling CD's from our bands.
If I were to set up a small table in front of my tent with free stickers, MP3 samplers, and some CD albums for sale, is this something that Bonnaroo organizers would frown upon? And also, is this something that Bonnaroovians would go for? I probably wouldn't be selling the CD's for any more than five bucks each.

Give them away. Nobody will buy a CD of somebody they've never heard of. Selling=Frowned Upon Giving away=Who cares (just don't push it down peoples throat)
...and for the love of GOD, don't put flyers on windshield wipers. There's already enough trash to pick up after the fest. Have fun, but give the cd's away. I think you'd be fine.
I helped pass out CDs for my friends band a few years ago. Everyone that we handed one too was really receptive and excited to listen. We got a lot of "Oh sweet, I have a 12-hour drive back to ____ and I need new stuff to listen to."
I'd say you'd be fine to pass stuff out. I can't imagine many people would buy a CD though and yea, Roo folks would probably confiscate your stuff if they saw you.
And I'm with supercaleb, please lord do not put flyers on cars.
Agreed with the above posters, just give the CDs away. I know I've picked up several free CDs from people handing them out and was glad to have them for the drive back. I really don't think many people would buy them from you even if you were allowed to sell them. People are dropping a lot of cash over the weekend, and an unknown artist's CD usually doesn't make the cut for most people. So just give some away, and spread the work about the bands you're working with. And you know the crowd at 'roo is into music big time, so I'd imagine it'd be a pretty receptive crowd and one that would actually listen to the sample CD. And ya, quack flyers.
