Looks like many of us are very excited for Jagwar Ma. Along with Holy Ghost!, this will be my front row show at Coachella. I'm having difficulty thinking of an up-and-coming band that I was more excited to see at their first big US festival gig than Jagwar Ma. They are going to be absolutely exhilarating Look for the guy dancing harder than you've ever seen a human being dance - that will be me.

I'm hopeful that I get to go, so I'll play.
Friday 1. Outkast 2. The Replacements 3. Kate Nash 4. HAIM 5. Chromeo Almost made the list: Broken Bells, Jagwar Ma, +++ Artist my wife would want to see that I wouldn't care to see, but would see any way: Ellie Goulding Saturday 1. Muse 2. Lorde 3. Chvrches 4. The Dismemberment Plan 5. Fatboy Slim Almost made the list: Pharrell Williams, Darkside, Blood Orange Possible train wrecks I would still optimistically see: MGMT and Kid Cudi
Sunday 1. Arcade Fire 2. Neutral Milk Hotel 3. Beck 4. Lana Del Ray 5. Motorhead Almost made the list: Frank Turner, Poolside, J Roddy Walston and the Business Artist I only like one song by, but really like that one song so I would go see them: Daughter
No offense, but with those lists, I kind of hope you don't go. Fatboy Slim, Lorde and Muse over Darkside? HAIM and Chromeo and Kate Nash over Jagwar Ma?
Also, what publication do you work for where you requested media passes?
NO OFFENSE
Yes! I finally get to use that Burt Wonderstone image!

Well, some offense taken. Jerk. I hope you don't go. Take that!
I'll be at around 5 fests this summer so I want to catch at Coachella some of what I won't be able to see other places. When the Bonnaroo lineup comes out I expect to drop a few bands off that list and move up some other stuff. Like, I want to see Lorde, but I probably don't care to see her twice. And I'm still getting into new (to me) bands like Darkside and Jagwar Ma so it's too early for me to know where I really want to place them. I hadn't listened to either before Coachella's lineup came out. So would I rather see Muse who I've liked several albums by, or Darkside who I've listened to about 5 times? I like Darkside's potential, but yeah, right now it's Muse. And since they probably won't play at the same time I doubt the two are mutually exclusive. Most of my lists come from seeing something for the first time as opposed to seeing something for the 2nd, 3rd, ... 10th time. I somehow haven't seen most of the bands I listed, but I have seen a lot of the others. I enjoyed plugging you into my thought process.
For Coachella, a blog called PlaybackSTL.com I do Hangout, Bonnaroo, and some other fests for them. I also do some stuff with COS, but as you can imagine the line to cover Coachella is pretty big, and I don't do enough throughout the year to merit consideration to go to it for them. There's a big waiting line in front of me there for the bigger fests. It usually allows me to do smaller fests. I do both on a very part-time basis, so it works out well to do a little bit for both. It's just a hobby for me.
I'm just busting your chops, honestly. I want to see pretty much everything on your list except for Chromeo (and Fatboy Slim, if it's true that he really just plays shitty sets filled with other people's recent hits).
I'm late 90s/early 00s nostalgic, so I'm just hoping to hear some "Better Living Through Chemistry" and "You've Come a Long Way, Baby" stuff. I'm willing to risk it.
If you could guarantee me that he'd be throwing down a set full of his classics, I wouldn't miss it for the world. But, hearing recent reviews of some of his sets, I'm not so optimistic.
Friday: 1. OutKast 2. Jagwar Ma 3. The Replacements 4. The Knife 5. Broken Bells
Saturday: 1. Muse 2. Queens of the Stone Age 3. Darkside 4. Chvrches 5. Foxygen
HM: Foster the People, Pharrell, Pet Shop Boys
Sunday: 1. Neutral Milk Hotel 2. Arcade Fire 3. Disclosure 4. Classixx 5. Motörhead
If there was no one I was dying to see at the same time, I think I'd check out Beady Eye. Juding from their setlists they've been playing all of the hits, so that'd be kind of cool

Hey ya'll i'm jumping into this convo with a recommendation because I'm dreaming about Coachella thanks to all the shitty weather. If you like psych music, especially bands from the late 60s Canterbury scene (where they're from too), check out Syd Arthur (just guess where they got the name from...):
From what I've heard by them, they're a much better version of Foxygen thanks to some more interesting influences. No idea how they are live as I believe this is their first US tour.
Also I saw Muse last year and they were pretty boring.
are all these venues in LA, if not, which ones are San Diego?
I'm new to this, so tell me if I'm just missing something, but...
The Knife is showing the 14th & 15th on their tour dates and the venue is showing the same thing. They're showing Neutral Milk Hotel being there on the 9th.

SHocked no one posted this today. Pretty sweet lineup honestly. Christian Martin, Chrome Sparks, Kill Paris, and TEED are nice additions. Weekend 2 got SCREWED.
